Juggs did you do any speed tests? I noticed less flickering of the arrows for data connection...could be my imagination though...

Hmm. I'm not sure. I would not think the phone would need to be unlocked for this to work and it should not matter what the location of the phone is because you are accessing the programming of the phone.

to get ur esn # in hex it can be displayed in ##778# menu. works for me now the update
