For those having battery problems, have you tried turning BEAM off? I always forget after flashing, since I dont use it.

Forgot all about that ](*,) Thank you!

I have never really understood this. For beam to work on the diamond, bluetooth has to be on. If you have bluetooth off, how can beam be doing anything that would cause a battery drain? I mean, it doesn't turn on bluetooth, does it? In newer Comm Manager's from HTC, the beam setting isn't even there anymore (probably because it's redundant since choosing to make your device visible under the bluetooth settings does the same thing).

I've never been so pleased with something annoying in my life.
I was able to induce the ringer bug on my phone today.
Here is the sequence of events and some observations.
Went to a meeting where PhoneWeaver changed my profile so that the ringtone was silent- it should have vibrated, but didn't. [Clue#1]
Part of that profile change was turning BT off; I had just paired my headset for the first time on the way to the meeting. [Clue#2]
I was able to change ringtones and play samples from Settings;Personal; Sounds & Notifications. I got the "corrupted" message when I tried from Phone;Options. [Clue#3]
After a soft reset, everything worked fine. Of course, I've been trying for a bit to make it happen againg and can't. Maybe I need to connect a BT headset....
Tried that. Tried switching around profiles. Tried messing with the settings in Diamond Tweak from instant to regular, with and without delay... fine right now. Really odd.

Trident you sparked a memory...

I remember some time back when the notifications problem was really bad, (but that was Opera 9.5 beta problem and fixed) and then when the ringtone problem started last month or so...I remember reading someone thought it happened only randomly when their sound profile changed. I dont know if thats the cause or not, just a thought. Its just impossible to narrow down to any cause, because it cant be replicated..it either happens or it doesnt.

Trident....not to toot my own horn (I'm not double-jointed...LOL), but the only time I have had the ringer issue (and it was sporadic) was several months ago, going way back to 4.1. I posted back then that the problem seemed to occur after I had gotten out of my car, breaking the BT connection. For some reason, BT always seems to eventually pop up in our discussions of the ringer issue. And, in fact, it may not be a ROM issue at all. Even back then, a Google would turn up posts on the HTC site about BT and ringer issues (and no sound in general). Just a thought.

Great Observations,

I am glad that you pointed out the bluetooth. Looking back I can say that when the bug was hitting me it was after pairing my B.T. and switching my phone to silent using the buttons on the side of the phone. I only had the bug happen to me 3 or 4 times, but every time it happened it was after that combo. I never would have linked the two if you hadn't pointed it out just now. :angry7:
