I did not have to unlock my phone. I accidently flashed a GSM rom to my phone (XDA + my lack of attention to detail = boot loop), so I had to revert to stock. It didn't relock my phone.

I'm not sure if anyone has had an experience with the SS Maintc release locking their phone. Apparently, we 2 have not had a bad experience.

Just a heads up, most of the stuff at XDA is GSM unless otherwise stated.

Question Re: New UNLOCKABLE Sprint ROM?

I unlocked 3 brand new phones today with the old sprint rom to flash them over to cricket with no problems. The 4th phone had the newest sprint rom and it gives the same error other people are reporting. So with this its not possible that anything is wrong with my setup as the 3 phones with the older stock roms worked fine.

You also cant flash another rom while in boot loader as it disables the usb connection while in the bootloader or something to that effect as I just get a rom update failed.

Looks like sprint is catching on.
I got a refurbished phone and decided to put the new sprint diamond rom on before I did the unlocker so that I would get the radio update before unlocking and loading grooverom 5. I also had the rom update failure trying to unlock, it just hung on the rainbow screen and never rebooted. The rainbow screen said security unlocked and cmonex but it never rebooted and when I checked, it definitely hadn't taken. When I tried to load grooverom hoping that it was unlocked from the new sprint rom as someone else suggested, it also either hung trying to write the rom and some of the failures even crashed my XP pro/sp2 machine hard with noises and the BSOD . I tried disabling the advanced network and that seemed to be what took my XP machine down, but then I couldn't not crash it.....UNTIL......

I realized/remembered SPB backup was running on the taskbar of my PC and while I had closed it when it opened a sync window when I hooked up activesync, that didn't get rid of the instance on the taskbar. I tried closing the instance on the taskbar before I hooked up active sync for the rom unlock and miracle of miracles, the unlocker worked!!!!! I then finally installed grooverom. My first custom rom!!!! =D>=D> I'm pretty sure spb backup was messing with activesync and that's what did it. Did you perchance run spb backup in between the first 3 sprint phones that worked and the last one that didn't? I had switched to a different cable (didn't seem to work) and then finally that different cable with a different USB port on the attempt that worked, but I really think SPB backup was the culprit!

Can anyone confirm this? I hope this is the answer and this helps someone else!

I'm really enjoying the ROM, but really think the titanium is almost as annoying as tf3d. What I really liked on 6.1 was BigHTCHOME.cab. After all the work I've spent customizing, I'm almost afraid to try it on 6.5, do you think it will work on 6.5 if I turn titanium off? Do you think my SPB backup works on 6.5? It runs, even looks pretty good when I expand the bacup file, but do you think it gets everything and will be useful to restore if I do mess things up? I always have activesync for contacts, but I hate rebuilding all my email accounts and phone faves, and preferences, etc.

I do love all the programs out there on this rom! I thought about going simple rom, but it didn't look like it had voice command and I can't live without that!

Thanx Groove!!!! Great work!!!!! It inspired me to download the whole kitchen and check it out!!!! Thanx =D>=D>

I had same problem when I got my phone from insurance. I had to actually relock my phone and then unlock it again for it to work.

Hope that helps

Thats odd. i run the new sprint maintenance release before i flash new roms daily and never had a problem. i did get my phone replaced about 3 months ago so i might not have the latest protected unit. does anyone else have a brand new diamond that is running into this!?>!?

Re: New UNLOCKABLE Sprint ROM?

I will be getting a replacement from insurance soon so I will test that out. I need to have it unlocked to use some of the roms on here

Re: New UNLOCKABLE Sprint ROM?

I was having issue with unlocking my Sprint Diamond I found this was a USB driver issue. Here is what I did to resolve the issue. I put my Diamond in Bootloader mode opened device manager on my PC I plugged in my Diamond so I could see the USB port list change so I so I could find the USB port where the PPC was plugged in the driver was something like Windows CD Device once located I deleted the driver. Double click on the USB port opens the properties second tab is drivers click box for remove driver. Then I unplugged the Diamond hit the reset let the Diamond come back to today screen. I reset the PC plugged in the Diamond let it connect via ActivSync once connected I ran the unlocker when the Diamond went in to Bootloader I get the updating drivers then a warning message select ok to use then the device is ready to use message and the unlocker ran and my Diamond is now unlocked. I have a Windows XP PC and dot net framework 3.5 service pack 1. It took me 4 hours of trying to figure this out so I hope this helps someone I hate to think I spent all that time figuring this out and no one get any use out of it.
