New UNLOCKABLE Sprint ROM?

Reading the unlocker thread will do you no good. The new sprint rom has some sort of new protection in it. I unlocked 3 brand new phones today with the old sprint rom to flash them over to cricket with no problems. The 4th phone had the newest sprint rom and it gives the same error other people are reporting. So with this its not possible that anything is wrong with my setup as the 3 phones with the older stock roms worked fine.

You also cant flash another rom while in boot loader as it disables the usb connection while in the bootloader or something to that effect as I just get a rom update failed.

Looks like sprint is catching on.

I just unlocked mines that had a 1.09 rom. what are you talking about?

Ditto - mine with 1.09 just unlocked with no issues using Vista. Simple and easy...

EDIT: NVM, my unit shows 1.06 at boot, but under device info it's 1.09.651.5

no there is not. there isnt a new rom this user is just doing something incorrectly.

After looking at my unit after using the TC stock sprint rom, I noticed it's 1.06.

I do know that 1.93.xxxx+ are GSM.. Perhaps the OP is trying to unlock a GSM version of the phone?

I had same problem when I got my phone from insurance. I had to actually relock my phone and then unlock it again for it to work.

I had the same issue with my Diamond and just ran the update in bootloader mode and it applied fine. I got my diamond on the 25th if that makes a difference.

This reminds me of basic troubleshooting.. I always ask if the person paid their DSL bill before I go out and troubleshoot their internet connection. :P

(typical second question while troubleshooting: .. is the unit plugged in and did you turn it on? .. hehe happened more than once ..)
