Re: How To: Kitchens

I thought I finally got a pretty good build today.... I thought everything was working perfectly... and then I realized that my bluetooth keeps turning itself off... It's happened about 4 or 5 times already... And then it seems that my out-going text messages keep repeatedly sending itself over and over again.... Not sure if the two are related, but my girlfriend seems to keep getting old text messages (since flashing the ROM) over and over again. It kinda feels like she gets them after I turn bluetooth back on after realizing it's off on its own... Hmm... I'll need to do more testing...

make sure you don't have any messages stuck in the outbox, i had this happen one time i restored my contacts and wouldn't stop until i was able to delete the message manually.

Re: How To: Kitchens

Awsome, Bell carrier included, thanks team. Just a couple of questions:

1. Their is no mention of it on first post, to use this kitchen do I need to update the HardSPL first?

2. Is their a way to backup my stock Bell ROM or is their a Bell ROM somewhere I can use to reflash if needed?

3. My BuildOS seems to be broken (after running build my rom, I get the dos box then a message from vista saying buildos.exe has stopped working no matter what I do can't seem to fix it) and overwriting it from the downloaded file does not seem to fix it, any ideas??

Re: How To: Kitchens

An update to my bluetooth disconnecting issues... So, I noticed the disconnects last night when I was driving. I would receive a call, and I would realize that my phone is no longer connected to my car, and that bluetooth is actually off... Sometimes, the bluetooth icon is gone, but the connection manager still says that it is on. I have to toggle it off and then on to get it back. Sometimes, even the connection manager says it's off...

Last night and this morning, I just turned on bluetooth and left it for hours. It did not turn itself off...

Then I turned on my Jabra JX10 headset and left it alone for hours and it never disconnected and bluetooth never turned off..

Earlier today, I went for a drive and sure enough, some time during my drive, the phone disconnected and turned off bluetooth...

I checked, and both the Jabra JX10 and the UConnect (Chrysler's in-car bluetooth system) are paired as "Handsfree" devices. So no difference there..

Thanks SOHKis... I did have stuff in the outbox. But it behaves very strangely... When I check my Sent Items folder, it looks like it tries to display three messages, but that area of the screen simply does not refresh. I just see old-left-over stuff in that area..

That's probably the cause of it... Outlook can't verify that it has moved the messages from the outbox to the sent box successfully, so it does not delete it from the outbox. Of course, if it's in the outbox, then every time a Send/Receive cycle comes (scheduled e-mail checking, or sending/receiving message), it will attempt once again, only to think it failed again... And my poor gf keeps getting more and more texts from me... I wonder if she's annoyed yet... Yesterday, she said she couldn't play bubble breaker because she kept getting non-stop messages from me...

btw, soft-reset does not fix this issue...

Re: How To: Kitchens

Wait.. a quick update to the text message Sent Items issue... More symptoms:

So, if I view and of the text message folders, then try to look at the text messaging Sent Items folder, I see the not-redrawing screen issue... But if I look at any of the other account's folder immediately before clicking on the text-messaging Sent Items folder, I see it just fine. But it's empty... So very strange...

I think I'm going to do another build...

Re: How To: Kitchens

Okay... I did a hard-reset and tested a couple of texts. No problems. I think it might be related to PIM Backup restoring some of the messages (as SOHkis suggested). So this time, I did not restore outgoing/sent items, and everything seems okay...

Working on the bluetooth issue now...

Re: How To: Kitchens

Request: Can the SMS 160 character count be added to the Sprint customizations? Or could someone explain to me how to do it on my own via the carrier config? I could add it to UC, but I think it would be cleaner to have it in the config.

Thanks!

Observation: Anyone noticing that the circular button seems awfully sensitive? I keep accidentally changing the text size within texts and emails simply by touching that center button. Never had that problem before.

Re: How To: Kitchens

Centre button wasn't touched, it's in your head:P

As for the SMS characters, change the Tweaks - Registry provxml file.

<characteristic type="HKCU\Software\Microsoft\SMS\TextShared" translation="filesystem">
<parm name="IS637MaxAsciiCharacters" datatype="integer" value="140"/>
</characteristic>
