Re: How To: Kitchens

Yeah it seems that new Touch Flo is designed for the Blackstone as metioned by Calcu in his ROM/Kitchen thread. That would epxlain it since the Blackstone's digitizer has different pixel x pixel dimenstions. I've been sticking with the default one. Have you noticed anything different with the newer large titlebar Tobey?

BTW, I've spent the afternoon with a 20757 based ROM and I am noticing its more graphically stable and a little smoother in operation. I've only come accross one pretty annoying bug though. I implore you to check it out to make sure its not something I'm doing thats causing it:

The select button on the center of the dpad works randomly. Sometimes it works, sometimes you have to tap it twice, sometimes you just have to lift your finger from the button area for a second or two before taping it (doing that made it work the first time I pressed it every time). Don't know if this has to do with the way I have my SIP setup or what.

I also noticed that my Music Playback is a little skippy every now and then but that might be due to some file system filter cache tweaks I did wich may not have been smart. jejeje So I'm not going to call that one a bug until I re-flash or hard-reset and check it out with nothing installed.

Re: How To: Kitchens

The newer Large Title Bar isn't actually newer, I believe the older one is "newer" in terms of inclusion to the kitchen.
I included it only because many people seemed to like it in other threads because it shows EV instead of signal-less bars when the full screen pops up.
My guess is that this is actually a hack in which they replaced the no signal bars with the EV icon, because those antenae are actually for Wifi. If you click on the EV, it shows you the not connected Wifi status. If you turn Wifi on, that antena is there instead of EV. This is just a guess though.

Re: How To: Kitchens

This is what I did for my first OEMizer try

(Do this first - In the kitchen folder create a Folder called Group - Name and inside the folder create a XML file mxip_myProv_100.provxml - I used DreamWeaver - I had to do this just to see the text of what the end result would be)

The File/Shortcut section - This is were you can add cabs - I added three cabs with the "New File" button - If I understand how this worked it added a Folder in the OEM folder called "Group - Name" - And in BuildOS it only adds one "package" - In this case all three cabs in one line item (I think)

Additional Reg items is exacly what it is called - You can add your weather and touch regs - I think

So on and so forth

From my little experience - Seems to me you could basically set up your whole phone just the way you want it - Add pop, exchange, Imap, User info all that.

I hope that helps - I am still learning also

: )

Never read it, but I'm sure it has everything you could want to know.

Re: How To: Kitchens

There is definitely a problem tied the volume up and the select button on the dpad. This is still apparent with the 20757 SYS. To verify it put the green selection on any of the shortcuts on the home screen. Press vol up a few times and that shortcut will get executed. Use the dpad and it takes a couple tries for it to work. I'm just reporting this one because I really have no idea how to get started on a solution for it.
EDIT: Not related to these updates but has anyone had problems with java in opera? I have to turn Java off to be able to type in the reply boxes of some forums.

Re: How To: Kitchens

I haven't played with 20757 much but just wanted to say that 20931a is head and shoulders above any other rom configuration I have used for battery life.

Re: How To: Kitchens

Nobody has the volume/up and select button issues I'm having?

EDIT: Never friggin mind, I just re-flashed and hard-reset after flashing. Plain install no config changes, no tweaks, no installations of anything nor restores from Sprite Backup and select and volume up buttons aren't demonstrating that odd behavior. My bad for bringing up this issue as a bug.

EDIT2: Left the phone alone with a fresh install for a while (g/f got home so I didn't have time to do anything to it after flashing and performing a hard reset) and the odd behavior returned. Oh well...

Re: How To: Kitchens

Hey Tobey,

I noticed that your latest sys folders have customer feedback removed. Would you care to share how you were aboe to remove it? I've tried by replacing mxip_notify.vol with non-SQM version, and also by deleting the SQM folder and replacing it with a dummycustat.dll. I also tried deleting ceipui.exe, but that gave me errors on boot -- but that was before the dummycustat.dll, so maybe I should try again with the changes. Neither worked for me. Could you please help me out? I want to remove it from sys 19965.1.2.3. Thanks.
