Re: [10/06/08] JUICY ROM 2.4.1 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

for those complaining of crappy battery life you need to reg edit this

First, you have to modifiy this key :
  • HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\SuspendResume
with :
  • ~GPRS!
GPRS_bye_if_device_off (default value)

After that, you will have to set this key ...
  • HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\CacheTime
...with one of these values (unity = second) :
  • 10
  • 15
  • 30
  • 60
  • 120
  • 300
  • 600 (default value)
This will automatically disconnect your data connections after the specified delay (can be good to preserve battery life).
Warning : it may not work with all software...

MonteCristoffOn from XDA pointed this out so props to him.....+ i think this has been pointed out before

ive been doing this every time i reflash and it preserves the idle battery life a ton

I think most people are already running these hacks in advance config or diamond tweak. Doesn't seem to be the answer for most of us.

Thanks tho.

that's why i said IDLE life...

there is no amount of tweaking that will make this battery last longer than a days use.

extended battery is the only way that we will better usage.

Re: [10/06/08] JUICY ROM 2.4.1 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

Okay, so I've been using Juicy 2.1/2.2 for a week or so now and decided to flash to 2.4.1 yesterday. It definately seems to be more responsive in general, I'm guessing due to the newer US GSM Manila used. Today was my day to test the battery life...and...OMFG...something is wrong. Here is a timeline of events today:

9:08 AM ~ Pull Diamond off charger with 100% battery available.

9:10 AM - 9:40 AM ~ Used Opera the whole drive to view my Google RSS feeds. (Battery @ 90% once I got to work)

9:40 AM - 12:45 PM ~ Several text messages and turned the screen on a few times to check battery. (Battery @ 80%)

12:45 PM - 1:30 PM ~ Walked down to the food court for lunch. part of the walk is a dead zone (underground). Took 1 picture, rest of the time, the phone was off/idle. (Battery @ 20%)

That is terrible!!! I didn't even make a single voice call.

Services enabled that use the data connection:

- Exchange Push
- IMAP Gmail (checking every 15 minutes...so it checked for email 16 times)

How is everyone else doing? I'm going to reflash to stock today as soon as I get past 50% battery.

I thought I've flashed my Diamond using my Vista x64 machine...maybe not though. Have you tried it? Are you having issues, or just asking theoretically?
