Re: Lite O.a.T. ROMs | Because lite & O.a.T.s are good for you. | Updated Nov. 21, 20

installed Light Titanium. It is pretty cool. Just a couple of quick questions:

1. press Home key will call voice mail. Is this as designed.
2. I'm a sprint user, any tweak can force roaming to verizon?

1. I put up the Titanium rom at the request of others, so I have not personally used it. On my Sense 2016.21681 rom, the home key takes me to the home page, as expected. But since there is no home page on Titanium, that could be "as designed". When I get a chance to check I'll let you know; or maybe someone else who is using can confirm.

2. Don't know of one.

Sniff Sniff only two more weeks????
My parents are with Verizon in Virginia USA, So I hate Verizon don't have HTC android with 4.3" screen (Also I'm not interest in Iphone neither itunes). I really believe android is going everyday to a more and more voice commands phone style, so lack of a hard keyboard is not an issue, at least until your texting (SMS) or emails is not with private content. In that case, you have a good chance to wait until January 6th for Sprint's brand NEW "HTC EVO SHIFT 4G" with hard keyboard but only 3.7" screen .
Nevertheless I think size matters (screen size) so I guess if Dell's phone with 5" screen doesn't suck I will choose that big screen, but not a chance for now.

I'm confuse now, here in Mexico they are going to sell Samsung Galaxy Tablet with phone calls capability, Why Verizon and Sprint had their Galaxy Tablet without phone calls????? Why????(I'm disappointed). I mean, my old-man will be really benefit if he can use a phone with 7" screen (big font size I hope). It took me 3 years to convince him that Bluetooth headset will not fry her brain and actually plantronic has a hell better audio than his phone, but Why he would need to have a "Tab" to see emails&reminders, a phone for make calls and a bluetooth. Can you imagine the mess with the "power chargers", "Damn it, where the F*ck I left the headset?!?!" so when he answer a call actually he are IN the call and also not to had to go every hour to the Computer to see an email or reminders (calendar)

By the way, 1.- What are the "cons" with the EVO (life battery I heart they got an upgrade months ago, but what are the other Evo's bugs??). 2.- It is really better the "UI" of "HTC Sense" than Samsung or Motorola "UI"???

Question Re: Lite O.a.T. ROMs | Because lite & O.a.T.s are good for you. | Updated Nov. 21, 20

O.a.T. I'm really happy that EVOlution is going to you, improve communications life is an INCREDIBLE must nowadays. There so many features nowadays that is weird to stay out of this "LEGEND wave of connectivity and cloud services".
So glad you go to android world.
I will miss you but hope sooner that later reach that era.
Trying to use this two weeks before you upgrade.

---------------------------------
On the Topic:
I had play around enough with O.a.T.'s ROM 21684 w/Theme, but even the usual everyday tasks are more buggy free, there are some issues I'm Afraid they are enough buggy to me:
The first one (I will like to ask if anyone using this ROM can check it to see if they have the same issue).
Multitasking is really buggy, just boot up the phone open "Google Maps" return to Home tab (without closing the G-Maps apps) and try to open any other apps, it doesn't aloud to open more apps and I can't even access to RAM memory meter to see if that is the issue.
Second one, there is an annoying 2 second retard after you already had the "answer green swipe control moved left" and the phone actually answer. I mean I hear the phone ringing, then I swiped left the "green answer control" to the left, but still had to wait 2-3 second before phone actually answer the call. This bug is total new for me never saw that issue before.
Third one, more often after a lot of Texting (SMS) and emails, when you try to open "all people" it doesn't appear the "all people button" (it appear instead the old normal calendar windows soft key) or start to freeze the phone.
Worst Today I had my first SOD (sleep of death) when try to weak up my phone (it was with 74% of battery and I was in a good "Ev" signal area).

----------------------------
So O.a.T. in my more kindness way to ask: Are you going to "gift/give" (as Christmas gift) us with one more ROM before you switch to android. Not hurry at all just wondering if there are gonna be one more for test.
Anyway I guest 21681's ROM is a winner upto this point.

Best Regards Sa6r0s0

The EVO is huge, but it fits in tight jeans just fine (with BodyGaurdz) and once you watch videos and browse the web on that massive screen... Wow. There's no going back.

But it's the plan that kills you in the long run and a pretty smile and a good story are enough to replace a cracked iPhone (Foxconn is still evil). I know from experience .
If it saves you money, go for it!

Oh and by the way the screen resolution on the Epic is the same as the EVO. The pixel arrangement on its AMOLED screen actually "blurs" text but makes movies and pictures look... well... epic. LCD's (like on the EVO) are still the best for use in sunlight. Still, the iPhone has the best screen in every area with its crazy resolution. Hands down.
Power management on AMOLEDs (glares at Samsung's software department?) is still iffy and could hamper you depending on usage. It definitely hobbles the Nexus One.
True. GSM Coverage is worse in most areas, even if its internet speed is faster (not faster than "4G" though).

Not really sure what I am going to do as I rec'd no response to my "Black Friday Special". There is a new 21686 out which seems to be getting good reviews, after an apparently buggy 21685.

Thanks for the info O.a.T.
Anyway What was the deal: a "special low cost family plan" or "low price phones" with regular cost for family plans??
You make the question/deal or Sprint/retail make the "Black Friday Special" offer????
By the way I had read that Sprint is going back with IDEN phones so Nextel&Sprint will split in 2012 and Sprint will invert in a new antenas net?? I wonder what will be LTE or HSPA+ (or whatever name it has the alternative for 4G in At&T or Tmobile???
These last months my Mexican carrier has open a new net of antenas of GSM signal, so they start to sell cheap GSM phones. I have a little hunch that here in mexico CDMA will only remain, because "Roaming deals" with USA carriers.
I will cross my finger maybe Samsung TAB will came to my carrier with Phone capabilties/enable.

My "Black Friday Special", that was on the news section of the first posting of this thread, was tell me what you want in terms of a rom that generally follows my design philosophy and I'll see what I can cook up and post before I close this thread around December 18. Didn't get a single response!

You know, O.a.T.,
You've done it. Excellent battery life, great usability, and great speed. Everything a ROM should be. No more, no less. There's not really anywhere to go from here since WM is officially a dinosaur. Maybe sad, but very true- welcome to the 21st century.

Fix the HTC messaging app bugs and increase the boot time by removing animations as a Christmas gift? Maybe some updated ezinput and camera apps? HTC Footprints? All icing on the cake, of course.

Hi Sabroso.
On the EVO-
A close relative has one and I've been browsing the EVO forums and I can tell you that it:
1. Has OK battery life- enough to get through one day only, but much more if you use it wisely and download a PPCGeeks ROM.
2. Lays on its camera lens when you set it down (with no case). My relative's EVO has a scratched lens
3. Is still the android phone to have. It's the best one that HTC makes for Sprint. Wait for the Shift 4G though- that's my plan.

I've been studying UI's and design for a while now and I can definitely say that Sense for Android is the best UI out there. It is:
1. Easy- 6 year olds and 65 year olds have both used it and loved it. Motorola and Samsung's UI's are dark and overcomplicate the beauty of Android. Sense makes it better.
2. Fast- 8 home tabs and easy task switching without slowing down the phone!
3. Functional- tons of widgets and ways to organize them.
4. Pretty- Beautiful and customizable (coming soon)

Want more? I've got more... lol
Oh, and Samsung still sucks. Sorry. Releasing Froyo on the Gingerbread day? 'Nuff said.
