clearROM 1.8 will be out later today! There's a lot of updated stuff in it, refer to the changelog in post 2 now for more information. I want to do a little bit more testing to ensure its up to snuff before releasing it for your consumption.

And as an added bonus, you'll be getting around 7mb more free space due to smaller images, which also results in a snappier ROM

Optimized - Images from various packages for a smaller and faster ROM (thanks amikam for the tip!)

After more testing and optimizations, the ROM is definitely a lot faster than before, and you get about 5mb more free space (not 7 ).

Using Kimi's messaging mod instead of amarullz has also made texting feel a lot smoother than before, which is realllly nice

The custom start menu icons don't apply anymore (can't figure out why), but whatever

Not sure how this ROM could get faster, but I'll all for getting proved wrong.

Works awesomely for me! Just put it on mine 2 days ago (was using your 1.6), and I definitely notice an improvement in speed, albeit minor, but every little bit faster is better. The thing that caught me off guard is that my battery life is a little better with this version as well! Keep up the great work!

This ROM is attractive, smooth, fast and well thought out. It is the best that I have used on my Diamond and I have beeen flashing at least weekly for a couple of years. Thanks for your continued work on this somewhat dated device. While the Diamond is comparatively old, it is still the most capable device I know of that is also compact and easily fits in my pocket.

I hope you can manage to stay on updating the ROMs for a while longer instead of jumping ship like so many other chefs have.
