Where do they hire these people from

I go into Sprint store today..."yes I already know they know nothing"...I asked him about cases first and of course they dont have any. Then i asked about the 6.5 update. He tells me that Win 7 mobile update will be out by the end of this month and just bring my phone in for the update. I just politely ignored him and said thank you and vow never to go back to the store unless i have to!

reminds me. I called VZW today regarding the TP2 coming back on stock. She told me not to worry, since VZW only has competition "With T-Mobile with the TP2"

I find myself in these situations whenever I go to buy any tech toy (cars as well). It's very frustrating.

Don't blame it on the store employees. I know several store employees and Sprint doesn't tell them JACK. I actually had my TP2 in-hand before a store manager even had his materials on it.

One would think that Sprint would want their employees in-store to be up to date, but it seems they are on the bottom of the list for news and happenings.

I think to a degree, most people who go into a store probably aren't too 'up and up' about cell phones and are just looking to get a cell phone and don't do a whole lot of research. power-users, like the ones on this site, do their research and then become offended when the salesperson doesn't know what they're talking about, whether by lack of information from corporate or just incompetence in general.

in my experiences, the sales people generally just try to tell people what they want to hear, knowing that the majority of people won't have done their research.

it is refreshing to know i'm not alone in questioning the hiring practices of cell phone shops... i feel like i could probably do a better job of some of the hires.
