Re: Note to Sprint - Logic does not = market adoption.

All i'll say is that I agree sprint needs to come down off their phone pricing structure alot... they're getting left in the dust in this area... phones 2 and 3 generations old are still hovering around the same msrp they debuted at! meanwhile verizon just slashed prices on diamonds and tp's to clear inventory for the tp2... get with it sprint!

Re: Note to Sprint - Logic does not = market adoption.

Phone pricing, and plan pricing is a slight of hands. One way or another you are going to end up paying for it.

Sprint has a cheaper plan pricing, they don't subsidize their phone pricing as much.
VZW has cheaper phones because they subsidize more, they have higher plan pricing.

Overall Sprint still wins the price war.

We could argue who has the cheaper phones and the cheaper plans all day but until you compare plan pricing and cost of phone the numbers will not lie. We all have our preferences as to what carrier we want to use and some carriers have better coverage in different parts of the country.

Re: Note to Sprint - Logic does not = market adoption.

The roaming agreement with Verizon is not a selling point to the average consumer. For example, try using a Sprint phone in NYC in the Port Authority building, no coverage.

Use my Verizon blackberry, 4 full bars. When does roaming kick in? The average consumer will not force roaming and the Sprint phone wih the slightest coverage from Sprint will not switch over...

Needless to say, on a highway, that would be even less likely.

Pricing phones that consumers want are key to their recovery, however, with 16 billion in debt, I can understand their issues on subsidizing.

Re: Note to Sprint - Logic does not = market adoption.

There is also another way to look at this. I am in the service industry. Most people will look for the cheaper up front, out of pocket expense, and not care about long term prices that are revolving. IE: Go to Sprint get a TP2 for 350, pay 100/mo, go to T-mobile get it for $200, pay say 120, or VZW for 200 pay 150/mo. I know prices may be off, that is not what I was tring to get at. My point is most Americans live by the idea of I want it now and for the lowest price.

Re: Note to Sprint - Logic does not = market adoption.

sprint decided long ago to not use wm devices to draw customers. too many headaches. since verizon cripples stuff their cs job is easier.
why do you think they blew so much $ on exclusive pre. (opposite iphone /att; carrier got screwed by no apps)
