Re: Switching from T-Mobile, # question
When I left Verizon I ported my numbers over to Sprint BEFORE I cancelled my Verizon account. This should not be a problem for you to do either. Number porting is very common and is your right to do so whenever you chose as long as the provider you chose can use the number on their network for the area you live. Bottom line is... you will have no problem porting your number over to Sprint or any other carrier for that matter.

Re: Switching from T-Mobile, # question
As long as your contract is fullfilled, just take your bill into my store so they have your account number and the helpfull salesperson will take care of the rest. If you switch before your contract end date, they will still port your number and charge an early termination fee.

Re: Switching from T-Mobile, # question
Actually a person wanting to switch carriers will want to port their number(s) before cancelling their contract in order to not have to go without phone service. Then as soon as their new account is set up and active, they would then need to cancel their exhisting contract and be responsible for the remaining contract on however many lines are in contract. Some carriers will pro-rate the early termination fees and charge the customer the difference. The early termination fees applies to anyone who is currently still in contract reguardless even if they pay all of their current charges or not.

Re: Switching from T-Mobile, # question
my buddy did exactly what the OP is talking about, and Sprint paid his ETF to VZW to get him as a customer... actually they put a credit on his new sprint account to counter what he had to pay VZW
dont know if thats common, or they were just being nice that day, but its worth a try
