Re: Sprint and Insurance Woes
Well, I don't know about that, but lucky for you (sort of), Asurion's having an open Enrollment from May1st to May31st. More info here.
You may still have to wait a week or so (till the 1st), but they overnight the phones (free, I got my Diamond like that, next day), and heck, at least you'll have insurance. ~Journey Last edited by Journeyjeans; 04-20-2009 at 02:05 PM. |

Re: Sprint and Insurance Woes
May or may not work. But try it. In Sprint system, it may show the first date you actually activated the Mogul, or it may show todays date. No way to tell until it is done. But if it shows today date, it will work. And if you get a dumb rep, they do not check anyway. But having a Sprint device without insurance, is not a smart idea. The more you spend, expect even more problems.

Re: Sprint and Insurance Woes
Sprint's India call centers are always going to try and send you to Asurion. That's a false starter. Here is what I recommend:
1. If you decide to pursue via phone, call Sprint Technical support again, do not take the "No Insurance" answer.... tell them to look up the known issues for the touch pro. They will find notes on the cracking chrome issue. There will also be a range of ESNs that are under the recall. As long as you are in that range you are golden. Do not relent. 2. Take it to the store with the same tactic. Ask them about the known issues notes for the Touch Pro. My vote would be to go to the store/repair center, right now they have more tools to help you, especially with sprint adjusting their warranty coverage. http://www.wmexperts.com/sprint-warranty-changes-better You almost dont need insurance! Report back and let us know what happens.

Re: Sprint and Insurance Woes
Remember that Asurion up'ed their deductible from $50 to $100 on most PDA/Smartphones.
If it really gets down to it, and you've spoken to reps and supervisors alike and they still aren't working for you, I'd try the executive customer service people. I had just about every defective Mogul out there, and they were able to help me out. It's been a long time since I've called, but they made everything right again. 703-433-4401 is their number, open 7-5 central time if I recall correctly.
