Text message spam?

So my phone just goes off. It says from cathy@humidity.com and the subject is Sonya send you a pm goto www.coltbest.com. I have not one email address stored in my phone, how do I block text spam? Honestly, I didnt know it existed

They're probably using yournumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com to send that out. Call Sprint and ask them to disable that feature (where an email address can 'translate' into a text). Of course, that's if you don't need that feature, but I'd imagine most people don't.

I had one of those stupid texts before. Just one though. Every now and then I won't mind but if it gets to be 2 or 3 a day, heck even less, I'll start biotching!

i received a text today from "lauren@ick.com" and it said something like "marian has sent you a pm, check it here" and "here" was blue and clickable. i obviously didnt click it b/c i have no clue what that would be.

i didnt sign up for any porn subscriptions, lol. and i dont give my phone number out to anyone except friends/family. i dont think i've ever even typed in my number except for logging into sprint.com. sometimes i will active sync with my desktop but norton antivirus and avg anti spyware both say my desktop is clean.

that being said, i know my touch pro is a miniature computer so can this be something i need to worry about? how would u recommend solving this issue? could it just be a crazy fluke?

p.s. i googled "lauren@ick.com" and even "@ick.com" and i didnt really get any results that explained anything... thanks guys

i just ignore and delete those immediately. i never click them.

If you get a whole bunch of these over the next couple days, its more than likely you are getting spam to your Picture Mail account. It happened to me and I had to have Sprint change my pic mail alias email address. I ended up getting something like 500 of these in the course of a month...

yup, unemployment's high and schools almost out= new virus/spam/phish's I got a spam txt a few days ago, and have been getting 1 in gmail every day for a week or so.

yeah, i get 'em and automatically look for blas to eliminate 'em!

hey, i got that crap too and i can confirm that i used http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/email-to-sms/ to setup that yournumber@messaging.sprint.com or whatever it is.... i'm thinking its spam sent to that mailbox... not really too sure about what to do... only gotten one of those PM message things

if i start to get more i'll take off that text alert for emails and have sprint change that
