hey im kinda pressed for time gotta run...but just wanted to let yall know that i just filed an advanced exchange on my mogul and they sent me a PRO...

so i logged on to eticket and put in a mogul ESN and they are sending out touch pros...not reconditioned either NEW lol...

We need a little more detail on the entire process you went through. The defect (or issue) that led to your exchange and how the reps handled it. Did they tell you they couldn't come up with a mogul due to supply?

Please reply with more details.

i manage a sprint ASC(Authorized Service Center) And I upgraded to the 6900 months ago but kept my mogul laying around. So i simple filed an advanced exchange saying my phone randomly shuts off.

theres no way they are going to be able to disprove that unless they want to spend hours toying with my phone. i just want the touch pro and they dont have any more moguls to replace it with...at least not out here on the east coast.

What is an 'advanced exchange'? Is it through sprint or asurion?
I have the insurance plan for sprint, the better one that costs more.

My mogul has physical problems and yesterday it totally messed itself or I have no idea how i screwed it up. The last thing I did was a week ago with ThrottleLauncher. I can't even connect to the sprint connection. My radio turns off itself and I can't turn it on.

Alpine, why dont you just call in and talk real nice to them and file a claim and tell them youve had all kinds of issues and wanna get a comparable device such as the TP.

Its that simple and worked for so many already. Thats how I went from the 67 to the 68.

if you have TEP $7 insurance for normal wear and tear or routine maintenence that is free. so they do an advanced exchange where you keep your phone and they order you a referbished one...well in some cases the phone is too old and they dont make it anymore so they have to replace it with the upgraded version of the phone. in this case with the mogul they are replacing it with a touch Pro...

oh by the way i just checkin on eticket and they are out of stock on the touch pros \ :( so idk what that means if you try to do an order. and i have no idea what asurion is handing out to ppl

Back from the sprint store, I told them about my problems with my phone. They said that there is mold and corrosion inside the phone because it got wet a while back. Luckily I have the TEP and I'm going to call Asurion later today.

This is true! I just did an online exchange request because my Mogul's USB port only works for charging. The device the system offered me was a Touch Pro and of course I accepted :P We'll see how long it will take, if I even end up getting one.

Ummm, I didn't really care about a keyboard or not because I use the SPB keyboard on my mogul's screen so I decided to call asurion and get a Diamond.

see now before i read about all this, i was having a problem with my mogul because my ROM was (is) screwed up. tryed uploading a new one and hard reset and still no dice. so i called and got an eticket but the guy did say that it was a direct exchange mogul for mogul. Is it possible with all you people returning moguls they are fixing them and giving them to me or am i going to be nicely surprised on monday/tuesday and open up a pro? who knows. ill keep you guys updated. either way i got a new phone which will probably break again because ever since 6.1 came out my phone seems to **** itself.:violent2:

I have been dealing with some serious issues with my phone. I am honestly surprised it held out this long. back in April of 2008 i fell into a lake.

anyways, I just did the online replacement. Touch Pro is on its way..

Interesting. This lends a lot more credibility to the reports that Mogul back supplies are thin at many locations and TP's are being substituted. Whoah! And I thought I got lucky yesterday!

Except for me, they offered a Touch Diamond (Fine by me! Asurion, take this crappy Mogul BS)

I called retentions and complained about the white spot, keyboard, and general sluggish suckiness. The Rep herself turned out to be a past owner of the Mogul and agreed on all accounts. She said that the Mogul was backordered and probably wont be available again, and right now Asurion is offering Touch Diamonds and Treo800wx's as replacements. She was such a sweety. She even offered to give me a credit to cover the $50 Asurion deductible. (I called back to make sure. Yep, she did!)

Long story short, while they didn't offer me the TP, they DID offer me the Diamond and the 800wx. (I took the Diamond and lo and behold today I got it. SWEEEET! Superior in everyway. SERIOUSLY. The Mogul's a buttmuncher compared to this thing.

And yes, I have to update my profile to reflect my new ownership. Also, they offered me $150 to add a second line, on top of a normal phone rebate and special pricing. I've only been with Sprint for 10 months so....take that for what it's worth.

I just had my Mogul replaced. I went to a Sprint authorized repair shop the day before Christmas to put my order it. It took THREE WEEKS and they sent me another Mogul. I called to see if I could get anything else because it was taking too long but I didn't get anywhere. Now this new (refurb) Mogul has a huge light spot on the screen. Maybe I'll see if there's some way I can trade this in for a Touch Pro. It'd be nice.

Save money? Insurance is $7/month, for the love of gods it's like not buying a bagel for a week. NOW, you have to foot the bill for the entire cost of a phone.

IF you make a big enough stink you may be able to put the insurance back on. You'll have to take teh phone to an authorized agent and "show" them the phone but I had to do that bc the boneheads at Sprint forgot to put insurance on my account even though I requested it in writing.

Well I called Asurion and explained the situation. Moguls are back ordered so they offered me a Touch, Touch Diamond, or Treo 800w. They said the Touch Pro is not offered as a replacement. I'm going to call back and see if I can get the Pro, but I'm trying to think of a legitimate reason as to why I should get the Pro over the Treo. I can refuse the Touch and Diamond because there's no keyboard, but what reason could I use why I need the Pro over the Treo. It looks like the Treo's specs are superior to the Titan anyway. Does anyone have any ideas?

you dont like palm's operating systems.......once your WINMO you dont go back! or at least not me. but on a diff note the ONLY palm phone i would ever consider is the Pre.

Same exact thing with me, I got my Diamond in yesterday. However, it was already registered to some other guy's account... in Chicago. They're sending me my brand new replacement, it should be here in another hour or so.

I did mess around with the Diamond for a bit, and although it is nice, I REALLY want a full physical keyboard. What are the chances of them sending me a Touch Pro if I complain? I know they're on back order too...

Not quite. The Palm Treo 800w comes with Windows Mobile.

Go to www.phoneclaim.com and click Track My Claim. Enter your mobile number and you're good. If updated, they will have a UPS tracking number ready for you.

Well i just got off the phone with asurion and told them I cannot wait 15-20 days for a mogul as much as i like the phone and im at college with no car and they offered the treo touch or diamond. naturally i love htc so i stayed with the diamond. going to miss the keyboard a little bit but have herd nothing but good things from the diamond.

I just got off the phone with Asurion too. Except they told me that the Mogul is unlikely to come back in stock and if it does, they werent sure when. Who knows.

They offered a Touch Diamond or a Treo 800w, their hands are apparently tied on any other models (the TP). At that point I stopped the claim process and returned my communications with Sprint. I need a full slide out keyboard. The calls have been escalated and a call center supervisor and now a escalated Tech have told me that its unlikely that the Mogul will come back in stock at all. You really dont get any valid information or help from first line tech support employees so its best to request escelation once you have some documentation notes for your account recorded from your first go around. In addition, the Touch Pro is apparently back ordered as well (according to the higher tech Rep who was trying to get it for me). I'm making progress in getting a TP replacement but it takes a LOT of time. Ive talked with 2 sets of low level tech reps, 2 sets of supervisors for the call centers, 2 escalated tech's who have power to issue a advance replacement, and 2 separate Asurion reps. Basically, its trial and error until you get a higher level Tech who A) has a clue and understands and B) wants to help you get a working phone thats closest to the Mogul (since the mogul is depleted currently). That in and of itself is a major achievement and that's only about half the battle.

Orionsbuckle, the guy who started this thread, had no problem getting an "advance replacement" because he was either within 1 year of getting his mogul (1 year manufacturer warranty window of opportunity) and thus they will authorize such a rapid replacement via mail for defective phone. OR they did it with no questions because he was an employee. Of course, maybe he just got lucky. Either way, for normal customers, if you have had your Mogul for more than 1 year they are not "technically" allowed to issue an over the phone advance replacement and it is supposed to be literally impossible for the customer support to authorize without Tech getting involved. However, a normal faulty hardware replacement at a brick and mortar service center is still VERY likely and there don't appear to be many (if any) moguls left. The odds of getting a TP are good and you are almost guaranteed a Touch Diamond if there is no Moguls. At this point, it looks like you're less likely to get a TP with Asurion. Your best bet (only if you pay for TEP) is to validate a hardware failure at the repair center and take advantage of no mogul inventory.

In another kink, it appears that using the self service replacement link provided in this thread (http://www.nextel.com/en/services/se...olutions.shtml) gets you a claim processed where it does in fact issue you a TP in place of the Mogul. Curious, since Asurion only offers those other 2 models over the phone.

Alpines right, ive had my mogul for 2 years in july and one thing the tech did say was because ive had this phone for a while they cannot do anything about the eticket for the mogul and that it wasw a 50-50 chance i may get another fone beside the mogul. Sprint tech was trying to sell me on just buying a new phone with my 2 yr extension and rebate. It was not until i talked to asurion where they offered new phones. either way i believe im going to satified with the pro at least i can get a case that will protect it from wear and tare

Unfortunately my order doesn't show up. It says allow 24 hours to pass from order submission before tracking... it's been 22 hours. Hopefully my order didn't get screwed up.

Yes, I went through the Sprint/Nextel link and Asurion did not have my claim number in the system, nor did they recognized my confirmation number. So, the phoneclaim.com link is only for Asurion, which explains why they are only offering the Diamond and Treo 800w, and Sprint is offering the Pro.

Was just told by Asurion they are not offering the TP because it as backordered and they will not offer a replacement phone that is backordered, because that would be pointless. So I told them to leave it that I want a Mogul, and if that doesn't come in before the TP's, then I'll keep *****ing. If I get the Mogul, then I can do the Sprint replacement that IS offering the TP because I'm having a premonition that my new Mogul will turn itself off at random times...

so far no luck for me on the HTC TOUCH PRO ..i have a mogul thats been replaced 3 diffrent times because of the white dots ...im on the phone with spritn right now and all im getting is put on hold ..this has been escalated twice
...

now they hung up on me ( second time tonight )
