I have a feeling that the 7-10 day wait time for moguls is a standard back order fill time, i.e. made up, as that was the response I recieved. I don't think they have any left, not even refurbs. I gotta think it would be more of a hassle for them to replace with a phone that EVERYONE is out of. Why order more of the mogul when you have an abundance of treos & diamonds, and (fingers crossed) more TP's on the way.

Had no luck with the link or a regular CS agent, but soon as I called Tech Sup and gave them the ER***** after a couple of minute wait I got a TP confirm along with a UPS track number.

If you want a TP replacement forget Asurion and go to the sprint link on page four.

hey, when i go into to check the status i get this message:

and when i try to enter my order number ERXXXXX it says the order number is not a valid or something like that. What do i need to do to check the status of my order?

can anyone clarify this? I called tech support lastnight and they said "rest assured we have plenty of moguls in stock" are they just telling people this so no one will ask for a touch pro? I have serious issues with my mogul, speaker does not work, i cannot access settings or programs under my start menu flash stopped working for the camera, cannot access memory card, phone freezes when i go to the web, and i have tried hard reset, im really starting to hate the mogul

It's all in how you talk to them. If you make it obvious that you're fishing for an upgrade, they'll throw you some BS. Play dumb. Tell them you need another Mogul. They'll say they are backordered. Ask what else they have. Sound interested in whatever they say, but ask questions like "will it take my memory card" and "does it have WiFi". They will eventually run out of options and have to send you a TP.

Oh and if they offer a 800w, which AFAIK has all the hardware capabilities of a TP (mem card, WiFi), tell them your company uses a program that doesn't work on Treos. They'll buy it if you're convincing.

ok just got off the phone with thech support. The moguls are on backorder and i should have the tp in 2-3 days. We will see what happens.

i did the online thing with asurion and it says they will replace my phone with mogul but they are on back order and when i search with my number it says tracking number not yet available.what number are you guys calling to actually speak to someone all i get is automatic.

I actually just got a Pro for the mogul and the only issue i had with the mogul was that the keyboard was sticking or wouldnt type certain letters. I dropped it off for an hour and they were able to confirm the problems and then they said they ordered me a new mogul. a week went by and they said it was on back order and to just come in and they would replace it. So i went in and said if this is on back order what are you replacing it with? and out comes a brand new pro! now im happy. yay!

well you guys got lucky, i just got off the phone with tech support again and they said "we have moguls on hand in the warehouse". So i wont be getting the tp after all :( but i did get 2 confirmation emails one states the mogul is on back order (from when i called tech support about the issues i was having) and the one i did from the self advance exchange which states the replacement model would be the tp. im confused now. will i be getting the tp or mogul? No one really knows i guess.

I ran into road blocks with every department at Sprint and originally with Asurion as well. I called Asurion again today and they're officially replacing Moguls with Touch Pros. No begging, negotiating, escalating, etc. The default replacement for the Mogul is now the Touch Pro as long as Moguls are out of stock. Get em while you can!

I don't know if Asurion has Touches or not. If so, you're probably stuck with it. If you have TEP you can go to www.phoneclaim.com and work your way through the online claim form until you see what the replacement will be. But I have a feeling that if the Touches are gone they'd give you a Touch Diamond. Afterall the Diamond is the new Touch and Pro is the new Mogul.

what number are you guys talking to reps on for asurion i call 800 584 3666 get automated thing and it says order confirmed but no tracking info available call back in 24 hrs!this has been since yesterday morning when i did claim online.

i tried it through the asurion people and it said it was going to send a mogul, so i did not accept it. then i went through sprint self service and it said its sending a tp. all of you that are tryin try using sprint self service before calling or going to the store. if they offer you what you dont want you done have to accept.

I got a replacement Touch Diamond, but I really don't prefer it over my Mogul. The backlight also likes to stay on, even if I force the screen off. I miss my keyboard.

What should I tell Asurion? I could complain about the backlight, and say I needed something that would take my memory card and have a physical keyboard, but I don't want no stupid Treo, lol. :mrgreen:

never mind fellas called sprint tech support told him my story he said let me call asurion then this lady came on and said the moguls are back ordered and can take 3-4weeks or i can get you a htc touch pro i said ya lets do the pro cause i cant wait 4 weeks :D

So what happens if they can't replicate your problem?

I put down that my phone resets randomly (which it does), but I don't want to be stuck with a 400$ bill if they can't replicate the issue.

You Mogul guys are lucky.
I have the Touch, and I went through the online Sprint replacement form posted earlier.
This is what I get, if I choose to replace my phone.

Defective Phone Model: UTSTAR MP6900 HANDSET KIT
Replacement Phone Model: REC UTStarcom MP6900 Handset Single

Oh well, guess I'll have to wait a little longer before they run out of the Touch.

For you touch guys do as I did. Pick up a Mogul on ebay, sell your Touch. Hang tough and eventually something like this will come along, well worth the wait. If you were to hurry you may get it this go around.

It's a no go for me. The first Touch Diamond they sent me wasn't working (ESN wasn't clear) so they re-ordered the Touch Diamond for me. Now that I explained my problem with the Touch Diamond to the Asurion rep, she says that since I already had one re-order, I need to go into the Sprint store and have a tech call Asurion for a replacement.

I filled out the self service phone replacement form on the web and got the following:

Defective Phone Information:
Model Name: UTSTAR PPC6800 QWERTY CAM

Replacement Phone Information:
Model Name: UTStarcom Touch Pro Handset Kit

Got a followup email confirmation indicating it would be shipped in 2-3 business days. My question is this... when I send the phone back, should I flash it with the OEM rom and relock the phone or what is advised here?

Definitely should relock and flash a stock rom.

I'm confused. Couple weeks back, my talk button stopped working. I took it to a sprint store, and they couldn't fix it. They offered to order me a refurb mogul, but couldn't tell me when it would be in. I said no thanks and left. After reading through this entire thread, i went to the phoneclaim site (i have the $7 TEP) and filled out the online forms. It comes back saying i should take it to my local sprint store to be fixed. Whaaaaa??? I really don't want a nasty refub mogul, and i'd be happy with a treo 800w. I need a keyboard and most importantly a storage slot. What should i do? Call asurion? Call sprint for the 10th time? I'd try the sprint online thing, but i don't have a pin number. A Touch Pro would be ideal, but a diamond or mogul refurb just isn't gonna work for me. So, bottom line, can someone please tell me who to call or where to go for the best no-nonsense help? Thanks guys :)

I am getting concerned that I won't be able to re-use or transfer my old mogul after the replacement. Sprint will prob. remove my mogul's ESN from their network because it's been reported faulty and replaced...

but i am just guessing and i haven't talked to sprint yet.

The PIN number is the one on your Sprint account... the one they ask for when you call customer service. If you're not sure what it is, call *2 and ask to reset your PIN.

My Mogul's talk button also stopped working last week. I went into the nearest Sprint store with a tech department and, after about 10-15 minutes, told me it couln't be fixed. Then I was handed a brand new Mogul and was told my service was moved over already.

Overall, I thought it was a great experience....no line, pro-active service, a new replacement phone for $0. But now I just came across this thread and I'm bummed. Oh, well. Maybe this new Mogul will have some intermittent service/power issue and I'll try another service location. :twisted:

Honestly, i don't think i've been asked for my pin. Its always been the answer to my "secret question". First pets name. Then again, i've been with sprint for 9 years, maybe i just forgot. ;) I swear, i've talked to sprint more in the past 6 months, than i did in the 8 1/2 previous years. Silly mogul!

No, you can NOT keep the old phone. There is a return kit in the package that the Touch Pro comes in and you have 15 days to return the old mogul back or Sprint will charge your account. The flyer says: $125 for phones damaged beyond repair or $75 for phones not showing any signs of defect.

Man, i'd (i'm one of the few i think) take a new mogul any day outta the week. Minus the dead talk button, and the white spots, it's been my best phone ever. Granted, i've never owned the TP, but i've tweaked and tweaked this mogul to where i have it just perfect. But sadly, it's now dying. So, i'd like a comparable replacement.

Yes, if they find out you still have it you're liable for a like $250 charge or something of that nature. If you're not willing to keep it as a non-cell tower working phone it is best to just send it back in.

I just got off the phone with Assurion and man that Insurance company is a pain in the a** to deal with. As noted earlier in the thread I cracked the screen on my mogul a few weeks back. Calling Assurion I was told the Mogul was on a 7-10 backorder, but I hoped on the Mogul still over the Diamond and other offerings (I really like the Mogul).

When I got back into Philly I had a Mogul waiting on me. It shipped the next day. I was happy. Until I examined the Mogul... It came with a busted keyboard and a broken SD slot... A quick call to Assurion got me the same song and dance, except this time the Mogul was on "Indefinite Backorder". I told them a Diamond was nuts and I'm not taking a downgrade so I was told to take it to the Sprint repair center.

At the Sprint Repair Center they took one look at the phone and were like "that's bad" (the Keyboard) and I was told I had to take it up with Assurion as it was within the first 30 days. I told them Assurion and trying to push me the Diamond and I was told that's not what they were supposed to be doing. I called Assurion from the Sprint store prepared to put the Sprint tech on the phone if Assurion starts with the same song and dance, but they didn't. After I explained the problem again and mentioned the statement from Sprint I was told "I see the last rep. offered you the Diamond and 800W. I am pleased to say we can now offer you the Touch Pro". So I took that...

Is Assurion just pushing Diamonds on us initially to save money? Hoping we'll bite that first since it is "new"...

I just tried to order mine online and I was offered the TP.. then when i got to shipping they said sorry for the trouble call this number...so after multiple attemps I decided to call. Unlike i thought it was quick and easy the guy TOD lol just said i seen you tried to order an replacement and they told u to call..next 2 min where would u liked that shipped and have a good day...hopefully all goes well and wed or thursday should be holdin my new baby!
