If you go to a sprint store and point out your defects, could you lobby for any phone? Is the fact that these phones are more customizable what makes them attractive? I have read every single post in this thread. Would you trade for a BB Curve if you could? Keyboard, SD slot, Reliable OS. No wifi is a big drawback, but I have SERO so it doesn't matter. You wouldn't need the Blackberry data service if you don't use exchange servers... Why not? Someone point out my flawed logic please. Otherwise it's a curve for me..... My mogul has all the common symptoms so I could go either way.

update!! i did the self advance exchange on sunday, it said i was getting the tp. when ups arrived with my package i was excited until i opened the box. IT WAS A MOGUL. YUCK! so dont count on the self exchange, MOGULS are back in stock. I ended up buying one off ebay (tp) and i do have to say great phone but the speaker volume sucks (voice calls, speaker phone, and ringer) ! anyone else have this problem?

I hope that doesnt happen to me. The self exchange thing said i was going to get a TP too.

I finally got my Touch Pro (on Wednesday) and I've spent quite a bit of time using it. I think I might be a new convert as much as I thought I wouldn't be...

It was a new in box with all the normal trimmings (minus the extra battery some have mentioned). Mine was shipped from Assurion as a replacement for the Mogul they sent me with a broken keyboard.

The difference betwen the TP and Mogul are almost as big as night and day, but since this thread isn't dedicated to that topic I won't stray.

I'll just say thanks to Assurion and Sprint!

Went to the Sprint store this evening because Wi-Fi has never worked on my Mogul. The tech did a hard reset even though I told him I did one yesterday. After the reset Wi-Fi still didn't work. Paid $55.00 and received new Touch Pro. Pretty cool.

I was reading my confirmation e-mail last night and noticed something odd:

"- Note: In addition to the charges above, Sprint reserves the right to charge an
additional fee of $75-$125 for phones that are found to either be damaged beyond
repair or exhibit no sign of defect."

That makes NO sense. If the phone is damaged beyond repair why should I have to pay an additional fee. Isn't that the point of getting a replacement for a broken phone. It's not my problem if they can't refurbish it.

Basically they are saying, if you use the phone replacement to receive a new phone and they check your old phone and it is not defective, they reserve the right to charge you between $75-$125. So if everyone whos using the system just to get a T Pro and nothing is wrong with your phone, expect a charge. Either way the charge they are charging you is still a good deal for a pro, unless you are a new customer.. and i still think the 125$ is still cheaper.

* a side note, maybe damage your phone before you send it back lol .
