i walked into a sprint store with a malfunctioning mogul in hand and walked out with a brand new sprint touch pro in hand without pulling any money out of pocket.............i feel so lucky!! lol

Your best option may be to either walk into a store, or just send back every Mogul you receive. When you send them back explain the problems with the phone, which are mostly OS related (like out of memory errors, programs crashing if you open more than a few, etc.).

You'll eventually be upgraded.

Ok first off sorry I'm not on that often so I'm not as up-to-date as some of you. Now, the good news. Here to report I got mine last night (Tuesday 1-27-09)! Filled out the form last Saturday (1-24-09). Guess it came first thing that morning but of course I was at work and my wife called me to tell me it arrived. Needless to say I'm thrilled and happy with my Touch Pro! Didn't think I had a chance reading some of the posts here, but was pleasantly surprised when I got the call from the wife. See all my fellow TP owners in the TP forums. Thanks to Orionsbuckle for the heads up and all of you for your help in the Titan forums! For what it's worth....Long Live The Titan!!!!

I would like to know, as I see that about 2 others had the same question...

Does this work for Alltel? I ask, because I hear that the Verizon TP is less adequate as all other versions of the TP. Is this true? If it is, you can understand my desire to upgrade/fix my Mogul before VZW takes over. I tried to use the Assurion web site...

It asked for my carrier, which is Alltel; asked me for my info, which I gave; then it asked for "identify the phone you are claiming" and the only option for HTC is the 6950... no 6800. What do I do?

Please help with any advice or suggestions, as my Titan was on it's last leg... months ago! Thanks for the support as always.

I'm also curious about Alltel. My phone is still under warranty, so I called in for a replacement. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the good folks at Alltel see fit to send me a Touch Pro!

Has anyone else tried the warranty replacement through Alltel recently?

so frustrated...got my replacement TP, but apparently it's already activated on someone else's account
easy fix, right? just go in and remove it from their account, since they obviously don't have the phone
but, that's not possible, so now I have to wait another 2 days (probably 4, due to Sunday)
supervisors are no help, either...I just wasted 2 hours of my life trying to get this resolved without involving UPS

then again, I'm getting a "new" phone for free, so I shouldn't be complaining...but still...

idk ive been running this service center here in NC for 2 years and its pretty much always been that way if a customer comes into my store. it depends on what the damage is...if its just a bad phone then its $55 bucks if its physical damage then its $99 and if its lost stolen or water damage then you got to pay for a whole new phone. but having TEP(Total Equipment Protection) Has Saved me tons of time so having insurance to me is still worth .23 cents a day lol

it depends. did you file an insurance claim? if you did then you would be charge a deductible. if you just did an advanced exchange like if the pyhone was just acting up on you then that should have been free.

haha sorry had to laugh...i work for s sprint store and deal withthis all the time...the account that the phone is on is your own...they add the esn to your account but dont activate it so that if the phone is stolen it cannot simply be activated.....all you have todo is tell them to activate the esn that is associated with the most recent order number...

So if I have the insurance on my mogul, and I drop it in the toilet. I can walk into a store and ask for a new phone and they will upgrade me to a touch pro?

ok the thread where i had been posting has been locked, thanks!

But finally since there are no more moguls i'm getting a new TP. It came in on wednesday but i haven't been able to pick it up. I'll be getting it on friday. it's a NIB TP to replace my mogul replacement due to white spots on the screen. there was a little bit of chicanery on both sides but it's because we're working together. As my buddy said, she doesn't care, it's not her money and if we're paying for insurance they should cover it.

Anyhow. this should be default for everyone now. So good luck but, i'm not happy, i wanted a mogul! I have the seidio extended battery, rubberized case and clip holster. SO kinda bummed out that there isn't a good battery out yet for the TP.

Ok, I am from alltel and boy do i have a story for you...I have had 6 ppc6800 since about august. all with some sort of issue. Buttons not working, white spots showing up and software making the phone lose a call and restart. But last week i went in to talk about my send (green button) not working they sent me a new phone by mail (6800) and this monday (3 days ago) i got the new 6800. The directional pad didnt work right out of the box. Boy, I was pissed to say the least. I waited all weekend to get a new working phone and the D-pad doesnt work. So, I called Alltel.com and talked to 3 techs there. each telling me a different story on what will happen and what i will get.

The first one told me that he suggests i talk to the manager of the alltel store where i am getting the XBM and demand I get a new 6800 or touch pro. Tried this routine and the manager wasnt in at the time. The second suggestion the tech told me was to try insurance. That was a joke. i talked to insurance for about 15 mins and since the original phone that i replaced was insuranced back in october, they said there wasnt anything they could do for me except charge me 100 dollars and i would get a new 6800. So that idea was shot as well.

I then called alltel.com back and talked to someone else which belittled me and told me that i was asking to get a free upgrade from a ford to a bmw (exact quotes) and I just laughed trying to be nice and he said that there is no way i would be getting an upgrade to a touch pro because touch pros are better phones and cost 20 dollars more then the 6800. But he said he would transfer me to the next level tech.

This guy seemed a little nicer, but still didnt get anywhere closer to a touch pro. He again did the phone by mail thing, which today i got another refurb 6800. SO FAR SO GOOD...he also said i have to get 3 phones by mail before anything different can be done. the only thing he thinks will happen is that if this phone starts to have issues that i can then go to the store and demand a new phone ( brand new 6800) but i argued with him explaining that that would be my 7th 6800 in less then 6 months and i want a phone that will work and last longer then a month. he told me that if i talk to the manager and explain whats going on, i might be able to upgrade to a Touch pro, but it would cost me 20 dollars since the 6800 is 580 retail and the touch pro is 600 currently at the store.

Now i sit and wait and see if my 6800 is going to last and be good. I am at my wits end with these phones and have had nothing but bad luck with them. So, is anyone else getting anywhere quickly with alltel, or am i just having bad luck with alltel

I I hate you guys lol, I cant stand this anymore i think im just going to call up sprint tomorrow and see what they can do for me. THis piece of **** is just freaking me out, now it wont even start. I have to soft reset it everytime, and it has these wonderful white spots, 4 of them, on teh bottom left hand corner. Evertime I try to do this on that site it just gives me the Mogul as replacement, wth lol.

Missed the boat again tried @ 10:09pm tonight and had to cancel request as they wanted to send me Single HTC PPC 6800 replacement. :(

Here's my story:

-Walk into sprint store with mogul in hand stuck in bootloader

Sprint rep: Have you tried a hard reset?
Me: Yep
Sprint rep: Well, I'm gonna try it one more time just to be sure
*Goes to ask how to do a hard reset*
1 minute later:
Sprint rep: Well, this phone is shot, we're gonna have to get you a new one right now
Me: Really? that sucks
*Sprint rep leaves, comes back with Touch Pro*
Me: Yay!

I logged onto the Sprint site Friday evening around midnight and went through all the on screen instructions. Monday morning I received a new Touch Pro and 30 minutes after I got the phone I got an email with the tracking #. Talk about fast, the phone beat the email to my apartment. Thanks Sprint! One other thing if anyone is wondering. If you have a Airave unit and had problems with it in data connect mode with your Mogul or Touch (like I did) the Touch Pro works flawlessly with the Airave.

I ordered mine yesterday, they said i was getting the 6800, but I've called numerous times and they still can't find the order. Not in the system. They told me to call tomorrow... ACK!

yes cancel it and keep trying until it says touch pro. p.s. i received my email with my order number and i tried to use that number on the ups site but i keep getting a not processed sign when cani check to see where it is at?

got mine in today, its a sweet phone for sure. I just flashed the mogul back to stock and locked it back up... its surprisingly peppy! Poor thing is trying to win my love haha.

The kinda crappy part is the phone now powers off correctly after the flash... it was my main complaint. I'm hoping they don't get the phone and think there's nothing wrong with it and charge me.

we will see.

yeah im having a problem tracking my phone as well i ordered my mogul (was planning on turning it back anyway) on tuesday and when i called today to get the tracking info and they said they dont have the tracking yet. they said i should of got my phone today. Where is phone???

Not what I read. If you return a working Mogul with no issues, they'll charge you full retail.
