Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES

after reading 18 pages over @ spritusers it sounds like the fee does not affect sero in any way which is nice. Also (while unconfirmed) it doesn't sound like it will affect legacy plans either.

not sure why anyone on a full everything plan would have anything less than the latest considering premier status but at least you can keep your current rate until your phone dies. i'm sure people will be getting out of the data fee anyway as long as they are out of contract.

this does make me wonder about 2/7. i was pretty much convinced it was a big wp7 launch w/some new unannounced phones but it has to be bigger then that to offset the new fee. i can only hope sprint comes out with a nice line up like vzw now that we are paying premium prices. revb would also make me VERY happy. lol.

Not exactly, legacy sero folks will see the $10 increase if they activate a smartphone after 1/30. But sero-p folks are "already" paying the additional $10, so they don't pay another $10.

I'm hoping 2/7 brings Rev B...then the $10 isn't so bad as all.

There is no way they are announcing Rev B on 2/7. You can just forget about that right now. They will be announcing some new device.

If Sprint had money to rollout Rev B, they wouldn't be standing by and watching Clearwire auction off spectrum. Heck, they would probably buy the rest of Clearwire that they don't already own.

We would have surely heard about it if they were rolling out Rev B. No way could they have kept that under wraps. Way too many people would have been working on it for it not to get leaked.

Are you sure about that? I switched from a TP2 to a Hero and had my SERO plan changed to premium with the $10 fee already. So that means I won't see an additional $10?

Pretty sure. SeroP (non-4g) is already $40. So, that's supposed to be the $30 Sero + $10 smartphone charge.
