I just tested my Sprint TP2 and I got 15Mb/s. Is that good?

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
Went into the local corporate T-Mobile and tested their so-called 4G data speeds on the HTC G2. I ran speed test about 15 times and here's the results... none of the tests were faster than the highest results I'm posting. Don't know what to think.

I'm not gonna defend tmo, unlike those that defend sprint....so I'll ask again...who's cheaper and faster? |

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
Netflix on T-Mobile's HTC 7 is sweet! It works very nicely! Other than no multitasking the HD 7 is a nice phone. T-Mobile's 4G is pure crap as far as I can tell. There's no way I could think about switching to T-Mobile with data speeds like that! Yet T-Mobile's family share plan for 2 lines everything unlimited is 179.99 vs Sprint's 189.99. But Sprint has a far better total equipment protection plan vs T-Mobile. AND... Sprint's real 4G spanks the living shit out of T-Mobile 4G where I am in South Houston fully developed part of the city! That's not a bs fake speedtest, its the real thing and I tried over and over to get better results. I was hoping to see 10+mbps but not even close.
Edit: In case any of you are wondering, I didn't do the speedtest on the HD7 because it does not support full flash content in It's web browser and also because it is not a HSPA+ "4G" phone. The G2 is HSPA+ and supports full Adobe flash content on the speedtest.net website. Last edited by tx_dbs_tx; 01-29-2011 at 06:18 PM. |

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES
Really. So to answer your question earlier... "who is cheaper and faster, T-Mobile or Sprint?" Read my post and figure it out yourself. I'm not letting $10 be the deciding factor for me... I let the real world tests prove themselves. Sprint wins right her right now, all day and all night long.
BTW, some lady came into the T-Mobile store when I was in there and she was asking them if they had "that HTC 4G phone". I pointed to the G2 and the MyTouch 4G and she said "no that's not the one" Then I pulled out my KING EVO 4G and she said "yea that's the phone I'm talking about!" I said "your in the wrong store... go over to the Sprint store". She turned around and was out the door in a flash. She nearly ran over a little kid on her way out! |
