Do you take the phone to the bathroom when showering? The moisture can definitely trigger the water damage indicator. Try taking it to corporate repair center, I always have better luck with them.

gonna cost more to switch carriers then it would to get a new evo.
seems strange though that some people can get new phones like every week if they feel like it and others with real problems can't even get one refurb.
