Re: SERO Premium Success Stories
I called in to the number posted by chilwill2000 and upgraded to Sero Premium in about 5 minutes. The process was extremely easy.
I was up for an upgrade, and wanted the Epic, but I didn't want to do a mail-in rebate. So, I just ordered my Epic through bestbuy.com. I got it for $249. Since the phone is not activated by Best Buy when you buy it online, I should be able to activate it directly through Sprint once I receive it in the mail. Hopefully, in this way I can avoid all the problems that mplsfalls1973 posted about. I should get it on Monday, so I'll post again to let everyone know how it turns out. |

Quote:
how much did your plan go up total? did you have any discounts? I've been contemplating switching by I have 3 500 Min Sero plans with 22% off on top of that. If I switch, my plan goes up not only the 10 dollars but 12 dollars on top of that without the discounts.

Re: SERO Premium Success Stories
Apparently upgrading through a retail store won't work. While I was able to successfully complete my order through Best Buy (and even receive a tracking number for the phone), Sprint came through and blocked the upgrade, then even went so far as to call up Best Buy and tell them that they weren't allowed to offer an upgrade to me because I'm on Sero.
It appears that it would have worked, but Sprint was watching for Sero customers to do that. It appears that the only way to upgrade is at a Sprint corporate store, or through telesales. So, I guess I'll have to do that damned $100 rebate... @hypeo: My plan will go up by $20 ($50/mo); no discounts. |

Re: SERO Premium Success Stories
I just went to Radioshack, the manager called all over the place to figure it out. Someone at sprint told him the only way to do it would be to do it manually (on paper). As he was looking for the paperwork to do it, he called the sprint regional manager who advised him not to do it b/c it would charge back his store for the full amount since he techniqually wasn't supposed to sell it.
soo.... in the end, I didn't get it. I also talked to several different people on sprint (care & biz sales) and they said only they could do it. Prolly do the mail in rebate.

Re: SERO Premium Success Stories
Has anyone been able to confirm that they did in fact loose their discounts after switching to premium? I was hoping people had gotten their bills by now and had a chance to check.

Re: SERO Premium Success Stories
I called *2 at first to switch over my SERO Plan to SERO Premium. The rep had no idea about the upgrade other than SERO was a discounted plan and he kept trying to sell me the Everything Data plan. He even went as far as to 'call' his account manager, where he told me that the only plan I could upgrade to was an Everything Unlimited or Data plan. I called back about an hour later and asked to be transferred to Employee Relations after telling him that I had a discounted Sprint Employee Referral Plan. Once transferred everything else was a breeze and I am now currently on the SERO Premium. Next step it to order the Evo from bestbuy.com!
EDIT: Just read rockrerun's post. Seems like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and wait on my $100 rebate.
