Re: Upgrading from $30 SERO to Evo 4g...Best Plan?

Yes, it's compatible with Everything Plus, and it's also compatible with the "new SERO" or EPRP (Everything Plus Referral Program).

Re: Upgrading from $30 SERO to Evo 4g...Best Plan?

couple plan questions for those experts out there.

currently on sero 500 in contract till august.

if i upgrade to everything 450 for 69.99 (minus whatever discounts i can get) it will be cheaper then everything plus 500 @ 59.99.
question is will i still be eligible for premier since the plan is 69.99?

I am assuming sprint will gladly renew my contract and give me full upgrade pricing since I am dropping sero... am a safe in assuming this or is there another route I should be looking at.
I also assume I can keep my number when I drop sero correct?

how is the employee value program different from from getting the corp discount directly through sprint? i don't see much info on their site.

Thanks

You're right, it isn't compatible with SERO, but the EPRP plan isn't SERO. I've don't know absolutely, but I have read discussions about it in several threads. At the EPRP site now, the Hero is shown as a compatible phone, so the EVO should be as well.

Re: Upgrading from $30 SERO to Evo 4g...Best Plan?

I have been on the $30 SERO plan since 2007 and will be getting the EVO when released. However, I will not get the EVO until I know precisely which plans, whether existing or specific to the device, will work with the EVO and only then will I upgrade off my SERO plan once and for all.

Anybody who upgrades their plan prior to the launch of the phone is a fool. You have no way of knowing which plan will be 100% compatible.

New rumors suggest there may be new plans and new pricing for the EVO, and not just the hotspot aspect but for the phone itself. I hope this isn't the case. The best you can do is skip the EPRP, go to the 450 ED for $69.99, earn Premier status, and then apply a discount to that plan. If you do EPRP at $59.99, you cannot earn the Premier status and the various benefits it provides. For $10 more, upgrading every 12 months and the discounts alone are worth it.

But only if the 450 ED works with the EVO. Fingers crossed.

My main reason for not believing is this is not the 1st 4g offering from Sprint. They do have data cards and a mifi that has 3g/4g speeds and not only have they been priced the same as regular 3g but the price has been lowered in the last few months.

I wouldnt be surprised if they do bring new plans and these plans end up being cheaper or offer more.
