It would greatly facilitate the use of BBSAK if you had a "how-to." And, in particular, how to resolve a "JVM Error 102" state (including, how to save one's address book before deleting or installing anything) on a Blackberry 8830.--Russell 11/5/10

We will look into this. most of these issues can be solved with a quick google search as sites like crackberry have covered this.

My recommendation would be to attempt to connect to Desktop manager if you can then use the backup feature. If you cannot connect to desktop manager odds r your out of luck with ur contacts. I would then try using BBSAK to wipe your device, if that STILL doesnt work then i would, try using the load OS feature sometimes thats the only way.

Re: [10/16/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.5

I have a question. When I backup then retore my apps. I see a folder in my apps(loc on my bb) name BBKSAK Backup. Once I open I see all my apps that was backed up. How do I delete an individual app? When I click on a app, the only thing I can do is Edit it's permissions. When I choose del from the menu it ask Delete BBSAK Backup?

Any help please?

Could you have it list the apps individually instead on all under one folder??

Re: [10/16/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.5

Also I think there's a major bug. Whenever I remove an app(del the icon) not from in app list because it's not showing there again since I restore using BBSAK then restart my bb, all my apps in the BBSAK Backup Folder are erased. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me.

Anyone having this issue???

Re: [10/16/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.5

Ok, I don't know what happened but I got it to work and everything is working on my Blackberry too.

I have a sprint 9330 curve 3g. I wanted to update to the latest os6 leaked rom .357, so I uninstalled all previous blackberry os versions and then installed the leaked os6, then went and deleted the vendor.xml in c>program files>common files>research in motion>apploader.

I uninstalled my older version of BBSAK and then installed the new version 1.8.5. I connected my curve to BDS and it connected then killed the processes. Then connected to BBSAK and it connected to that fine. Then i did a wipe of the device and it did that fine also.
After I had wiped the device and it turned back on with the load os 507 error.
I connected to BBSAK but when I clicked "load os" it said device not connected? what happened there?

So, I was stuck with the "507" error and was panicking. I tried connecting it to BDS but it wouldn't let me update saying the os is not for my device!
Then I went to where I deleted the vendor.xml and manually launched the loader.exe, and it worked and loaded the new leaked os6. Internet and everything works awesomely!

Even though this is just my story. I just want to know why when
I connected to BBSAK, when I clicked "load os" it said device not connected after a wipe? what happened there?

Re: [10/16/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.5

Hmmmm interesting. Maybe the os load code is still not quite right.. IE can't connect at 507 error. 507 is supposed to be the screen when you've wiped so that part is correct. I'm fixing to try the 6.x.x.333 leak for my 9650 so I'll use the bbsak and see if I get the same error, it won't be until Friday or Saturday though...

When you restore with the "restore apps" feature of bbsak this will create and install EVERY app you backed up, and EVERY app will show under the BBSAK Backup. You CANNOT remove individual apps from the phone. However you can remove them using the "read system" and "remove cod" functions of BBSAK.

The proper way to install your backup is to choose the apps while inside loader.exe when you get to the checkbox screen, the upper right part of that window will say "add" there you can pick every file in your backup folder. Installing this way will allow you to remove and see all the apps from your device.

507 error is a good thing, that means the wipe completed successfully, and your phone no longer has an OS on it. BDS will NOT see a phone without an OS so that was to be expected.

The load OS function just launchers the loader.exe, sometimes it takes a minute for this to find your phone as well. once it does you are golden.

Load OS function also removes the vendor.xml so i wouldnt worry about manually deleting that. Sounds like a fluke to me. Sorry about that.
