Re: Extremely slow initial build

Tried to reinstall on a different SD card with the same result. When installed Android seems more or less stable, but few apps crash the phone.

What do you mean more or less stable? What apps are you talking about?

Re: Extremely slow initial build

By more or less stable I mean that once the phone rebooted on its own in the holster. Two offending applications I found so far are the default browser, and Google Maps both are part of the FRX package

Offending applications?

The default browser works fine for me, albeit slowly and poorly. Hence I always replace it with Dolphin Mini.

Google Maps also works great for me, I use it daily.

Reboots can happen, there's still a few outstanding reasons for full reboots.

You act like this port is 100% perfect. No one pretends that it is. No one is forcing you to use it... If you want help, that's fine but don't just bash on it. Does you nor anyone else any good.

I'd be curious why Google Maps crashes. Can you actually (gasp) describe the crash? Maybe... even... (double gasp) provide logs so we can determine what's gone wrong?

Re: Extremely slow initial build

No, I am trying to act as an alpha/beta tester who is willing to put his time to common good and help make it perfect. If you tell me I should not do it, I will not. I did find a way around some of those issues ( an alternative application, an extra reboot, etc ...), or can live without those apps at all.

As for the log file: Where should I look for it?

It's a constantly running log, so it's best to boot, wait for things to settle, then ONLY do the task that fails. Then pull logs.

There's an application that helps you pull these logs called (surprise surprise) GetLogs. It's in AndroidApps\Other. The most important in this case will probably be the system logs. Kernel & radio won't hurt, but probably won't be very useful in this case...

Edit - I appreciate any help to "make it perfect", but bashing it doesn't help. Thanks.

Also, this build has been thoroughly tested by many... and while there are some outlying issues, Google Maps or the default browser are not included in there, so there's something wrong with your setup.

Re: Extremely slow initial build

Have you tried a different modules/zimage package? Probably wouldn't hurt.
