Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/5.0.18302/870; U; en) Presto/2.4.15)

The SenseUI version looks cool, but it runs painfully slow for me. I assume this is true for everyone.

The developments on GPS are cool, it will be nice when Google maps is not so force close happy. I was testing the new turn-by-turn in the updated Bing under WinMo and the GPS was VERY laggy. Looking forward to some stable Google maps navigation under Android.

Yes, the latest builds are very slow but I will be posting an older build that is more stable and faster at least until they get the newer rootfs and zImages tweeked.

Just go into "spare parts" and tweak the settings to make it faster.

Here is an older Sense UI all in one build. No GPS on this one. This has the roofs.img from 4/23 and zImage and modules all dated 5/4. This may work better for those interested until the current builds are worked out.

Sense05-04-10.zip

This file unzips in to an 'andbootS' folder. So just unzip in to the root of your MicroSD card. If you want to run it with all the files in the root or in a different folder you must change to startup.txt file and remove or edit the rel_path line.

Keep in mind that this build takes much longer than the AOSP builds on the first boot and subsequent boots. Patience is your best friend on the first boot. If you see any force closes with to option to wait then select wait.

As always, please read the first page of this thread before posting questions.

cliff did you do anything in particular to get wifi working on the sense build ? with the latest kernels (like the past 5) it doesn't turn on. says unable to start. when going back to the old ones, like the one that had the +17mb of memory, the wifi works fine. thanks ahead

No, I did have problems with some of the newer builds with WiFi and/or GPS not working, but no tricks to get it working. I think certain combinations of rootfs.img and kernels don't mix well. I did try some newer kernels with different rootfs, but each have issues. Hopefully the devs will workout the issues this weekend.

Can I have Mackie's build in the root and cliff's sense in the andboots folder and have them work correctly, depending on which haret.exe I load or can I only have 1 at a time?

I loaded Android 2.1 on my Sprint Touch Pro 2. I am running sense 2.5 in wm and when I start up android I get no service. I have tried removing/ inserting my sim card with no luck.
Wifi says it is unable to start as well. Why is this?

You're doing it wrong...

Which build did you load? Are you booting up Android with the sim out? I can't get service with the sim in at all. Might want to post your startup.txt so people can have a look.
