Here is the updated Sense UI all in one build. Testing on mine has the WiFi and GPS coexisting. This has the updated roofs.img (the first one dated 5/13/2010)

Sense05-13-10.zip

This file unzips in to an 'andbootS' folder. So just unzip in to the root of your MicroSD card. If you want to run it with all the files in the root or in a different folder you must change to startup.txt file and remove or edit the rel_path line.

As always, please read the first page of this thread before posting questions.

Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere or if this is common knowledge, but I was playing around on android the other day and I found a way to make the screen switch over from landscape to portrait without having to open and close the phone every time you boot. I hate having to open and close it because it eventually wears out the slider mechanism.

-hold anywhere on your homescreen until the "add to home screen" menu appears.
-click "shortcuts"
-click "settings"
-click "wifi settings"
This makes a shortcut to the wifi settings menu.

Now, when you first boot into android and your screen is in landscape with the phone closed, click on this shortcut, and then hit the back button (the arrow beside the hang up button). Your screen should flip back to portrait mode.

It has worked for me on the 4-19-10 and 5-11-10 builds so far.

I'll check it again when I boot back into Android, but I'm almost certain all I do is hit the Windows key a couple of times and it switches the screen back to portrait mode. No trickery needed.

Cliff, I also am from Iowa on USCellular with a TP2. I have tried two different builds of your Sense all in ones and I cannot get a complete boot. I get to the point where the screen says: KLINUX and HTC. Then the dude will pop up a couple times. This screen stays on for about a minute and then starts over. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Initial boot for sense build can take up to 20 minutes or more.

Just leave it cycle and it will usually get there.

The latest rootfs dated today works well including GPS and lot more stable. Doing search in Market still crashes and reboots.

Accelerometer is not working but used to work last month and hopefully that will get fixed soon.

The latest builds is also faster than the last few builds which were really slow.

Just noticed there is a new zimage file for htc sense dated today and I will try that now.

I have been having the same problem on my Touch Pro with the newest builds. I will test on my TP2 then post my results.

Keep in mind that this build takes much longer than the AOSP builds on the first boot and subsequent boots. Patience is your best friend on the first boot. If you see any force closes with to option to wait then select wait.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's contributed tips and to the devs who've worked hard on this project, and the guys who put everything together into one package. This thread has been tremendously helpful and I'm excited to play around with android on my phone!

I don't know if anyone else has this but I can get android running and everything. However, when I hit the end button to put it into sleep mode (or whatever you call it when the screen turns black), there is still a light even though the screen is black. So the light isn't completely off but the screen is black. Will this drain the battery more or is this normal? Oh yeah, I have already followed the instructions on the 1st page about the backlight settings in windows with the whole uncheck the automatically adjust backlight option. Thanks.
