Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
I just installed Android 2.1 with Sense on my Sprint Touch Pro 2 and despite a few hiccups it's running pretty well. I do have one issue and I'm not sure if it's been covered since this is a pretty big thread and I coudn't find an answer by searching. Android originally loaded with he Sense flip lock with weather but it didn't show my location. In an attempt to get it working I removed the widget and tried to add it back. On the HTC clock widget screen where I can select one of the 12 clocks, I try to select but nothing happens. I can tap select over and over again but it never accepts it. I can add other widgets without a problem. I've rebooted to WM and back to Android several times but I can't add an HTC clock to my home screen anymore. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks to all who have dev on this project! Using Android on my TP2 from Sprint has convinced me to move away from WM and I'm going to be buying the Sprint EVO when it comes out. Thanks for giving me the tools to test Android without sinking money into a Nexus One.
You rock! PS- If anyone is interested in buying my Sprint TP2, it is in awesome shape. Just PM me. Al |

As far the changing the HTC clock on the home screen, I have not tried this yet. Since you cannot get the HTC clock back it will be easier to delete the copy you have now and recreate a fresh copy. At least you could delete the data.img file and it will recreate that file, but you will need to perform your initial setup for WiFi and gmail again. I will be posting an all in one package for both the Sense and the standard versions. I will be changing a few things on how they are posted as a test to see if this makes it easier for anyone. Keep watching in the next day or so for my first test posting of the all in one builds. |

I think I have done something wrong on my install. I boot up Android just fine, but after about 6 minutes, it freezes and requires a reboot. Does it every time.

I will be posting new all in one downloads for those who want them. They will extract in to an andboot folder to where ever you extract them. It is best for those just starting the project to extract the download to the root of your MicroSD card. The startup.txt has the rel_path=andboot inserted as this will be one of a couple of downloads I will be supplying to allow for multiple versions on your MicroSD card.
Please read the FAQ section if you need additional information. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...12&postcount=2 The .zip file is for those have a decompression program like WinZip or 7-zip or those with an operating system the can extract them. The .exe file is for those who do not have decompression programs and want make an attempt get this Android thing working. Here are the links to my All in Ones... http://www.trues.us/Android/ANDROID05-04-10.zip or http://www.trues.us/Android/ANDROID05-04-10.exe Please give me feedback if either method is good or bad for you and why. I want to make this a good tool to use and I will make changes as the project progresses. P.S. anyone who can provide hosting for me to post these would be welcome. I have Go Daddy and I cannot get it to allow listing files in a folder. (it has the option to, but the changes do not take) Thanks |

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010
So I don't get it, I load android and after a few minutes I get this colorful "X" animation. Then android loads, but it doesnt have sound. I set up my exchange server, and my gmail. Everything works... texts, data, phone, market... but no sound. If someone calls me I cant hear it. The same goes with texting... no sound alerts. I even tried the android media player thingy and it still doesnt play any sound.
This sucks. |
