As far as the quadrant error, I don't have a clue, I'll learn that to the peeps that know this stuff much much better than me!! I've ran quadrant myself lately and haven't had an issue, but I'm also doing updates with individual files, so we may not have the same set up.

Appreciate the help man. Well all of my files seem to be updated system, kernels, etc. I just finished updating the rootfs see if that fixes but I doubt it. Anybody out there that can help I would appreciate it.

Nevermind, updated rootfs and enabled 3d hardware in advanced settings, dont know which one was the culprit but Im leaning towards 3d hardware ha. But I wonder why my score is lower, it used to be around 600 now its high 400. Sigh.

Looking for an assist

I've tried installing 11/22 and get an error message when installing the cab: "ProjectAndroid2.2Froyo.112210.cab was unsuccessful".

I am getting the very same message.

I thought it was related to a newer version of .net cf 3.5 in my ROM vs. what the CAB requires.

Any thoughts?

My ROM has 3.5.9xxxx .net CF installed.

Thanks.

I had the same problem. Ended up going with the RAR file instead.

instructions for RAR file - from Downloads - Project Android
  1. Unzip
  2. Copy contents of .Rar to the ROOT of your SD card
  3. Explore to andboot/Haret, run
be sure to delete the data.img

agreed, I only use the .rar files now as the last few cabs have given me that message. Never had any problem from the rar.

The RAR version worked fine after I installed the Launcher utility.

Also installed the new 3D drivers. Averaging 20 FPS

since the new build i keep having the phone reboot itself after it has been asleep for a while. it will boot back to windows, not even just reload xdandroid.

any ideas? didn't have any problems prior to the 11/22 kernel / 11/15 update??

InvincibleLiving 11-29-2010 04:06 AM

That new 3d driver is a revelation! I want to say I'm seeing at least a 50% increase in performance! Also not having any of the sound issues others reported. I put my stamp of approval.

Performance now feels akin to doubling the current OC speed or something. And Angry Birds works better than ever lol.

The last time I tested frame rate was about 1 month ago, and I was getting 15-16 FPS. By the way, I was only overclocked to 700. And Angry Birds is still too laggy for me.

How did you get it working? I was trying to follow the comments in the other thread but don't know how to mount the sd card and wasn't clearly following what he was saying. Aany recommendations?

I installed the november 25th standard version on my TP2 using my usual SD and everything works fine... except I can't make phone calls and connect to my WEP protected network. Now I read that the WEP problem has been reported, but I didn't see a clear solution to it. As for the phone network problem (I can't choose it in the settings), is it related to the Flight mode bug (always on) or is it something I missed??

1-edit your froyo.conf. go to bottom page. and add this command
mount --bind /sdcard/libGLES_qcom.so /system/lib/egl/libGLES_qcom.so

2-get the 3d driver see post #1(the first that i post) open the zip file. take the file (libGLES_qcom.so) from the zip file and put it in your ROOT.SD CARD. RUN HARET. good look. thanks

WEP is extremely insecure, you shouldn't use under any circumstances. There isn't any way around it, use WPA/WPA2.

For phone calls... did you check the force_cdma setting in your startup.txt? That's in the FAQ and has been discussed so many times.

go where you have your build. \SD Card\andboot\conf. in there you will find the froyo.conf

Ha, perhaps that's the problem. I'm assuming you found it with the full path, but the filename is froyo.user.conf. No big deal, pretty nifty little file tho. You can throw all sorts of custom commands in there, that's how I clean out the *.rec files from the root of the SD card.

Well, the phone started to work the last time I booted (all I changes was to overclock Android...). As for the WEP, I may change my home network settings, I'll thhink about that.

Oh please don't change from WEP. I love hacking people's wifi in under 30 seconds and firing up blacksheep to steal their private information...

Seriously, do not use WEP... use WPA2 unless your router/devices only support WPA.

LOL, in the custom commands section put: "rm -rf /sdcard/*.rec".

Probably don't need the -r or the -f, but hey. I really like making sure they're gone... :p

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [11/221] FRX03 Reference!

I posted a few questions in the Diamond forum at XDA, but that board seems a bit dead right now. So hopefully you guys can give me a simple answer to a few questions. I've failed to come up with an answer after a few hours of searching old threads.

Recently bought a Diamond. have not activated it on Sprint, but it works well on WiFi. I have not unlocked the phone (running staock Sprint for now- which I am happy with.)

I reformatted my internal memory (Fat32/16kbs) and made sure there are no partitions.
I successfully installed the latest XDAndroid build(FX3), including having the Diamond specific startup and conf scripts.

Android runs great. Wifi works perfectly. Only 1 major and 2 minor issues:

1: No SD card mounted (in Andoid settings.) The Diamond has 4G of internal storage, but it is not recognized. This limits the apps I can use.
-I believe this has something to do with the file names in WinMo, but I can't find a fix.

2. Marketplace works... but there are apps that are missing. Flash 10.1 and Skyfire do not show up.
-I'm assuming Marketplace is filtering my content based on hardware. Any fix?
-I downloaded the Flash 10.1 apk from the web. It installs successfully, but the programs that use it no longer load (the browser crashes when you try and open it.)
-I downloaded skyfire using the apk, but it is sluggish. Maybe skyfire does not use the hardware acceleration properly?

BTW, I am coming from a Vogue that is dying. But I never installed XDAndroid on the Vogue. I did unlock and install a custom ROM on the Vogue, but I'm not a power user :)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Format the SD card again (the 'internal storage' on a DIAM is literally an SD card soldered to the board, so treat it no differently. It's just not removable :p) with the HP tool, GParted... basically anything but the built in Windows or WinMo format utilities.

Never tried Skyfire, but I believe it is beta for Android in general. I wouldn't expect it to work, but it may... I think there's an older apk floating around. I know this has been mentioned before... Although the SD card issue has as well.

As for Flash10.1, our hardware is OLD dude. Flash only works on the newest of the new devices. With that said, see this thread.

Dude, the Vogue is pretty much the only phone (AFAIK) that got Android "fully" ported to it!!! You could even flash Android using tinboot... Man, I'm really surprised you never messed with Android on it...

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [11/221] FRX03 Reference!

Thanks. maybe I'll try it on the Vogue. I always figured it was too slow, and now that phone is dying.

I'll try a different formatting util. I used the built in Vista util twice (yes, I'm still using that horrible OS.)

I picked up the Diamond for cheap on ebay. I wonder if the TP would be a better choice for an android port. or maybe even splurging for a TP2.

BTW, my motivation is keeping my old Sprint contract. My old 8$ unlim data is to good to give up. And for any new andoid native phone my plan will more than double in cost. So I'm stuck using the old hardware...

HD2 is probably the best hardware for WinCE -> Android, but alas no Sprint love there.

The TP2 is a good solid phone, but performance-wise it's identical to the DIAM and RAPH - they all share the same processor & RAM specs, believe it or not...

DIAM and RAPH I would imagine would be pretty close as well, but I'm not sure... I know there's different variants with slightly different specs.

Unfortunately MACs can easily be spoofed, and if you are running open it'd be very easy to inject some packets and figure out what MAC addresses are in use... Just to let ya know, and sorry for continuing this OT discussion ;)

arrrghhh: Thanks. The reformatting using a different (non-window) utility did the trick.

The internal memory is now recognized as a 4GB SD, and flash and skyfire work. They also appear in marketplace.

Thanks for your help. Now the Diamond works in every way except camera. So a very usable android solution.

Actually, while they have the same processor and RAM, the TP2 has always performed better in WinMo than DIAM and RAPH. Maybe it's driver differences, or something else like chipset differences, but you would actually think it would run slower with increased resolution, but benchmarks suggest otherwise. Also, in my own experience, the TP2 was definitely smoother in WinMo than my old DIAM.

if someone is that determined to get in they are going to anyways.... im just saying. it is easy enough to spoof just about anything if you are able to catch a few packets

that and i already hacked my neighbors networks to make sure none of them were geeks that could hack me lol

I bet you'd be surprised to know that aluminum foil hats actually amplify the signals used for GPS and Cellular Data. MIT students are hilarious: http://berkeley.intel-research.net/arahimi/helmet/

As Arrrghhh has said, MAC address spoofing is extremely simple, and technically one could grab the MAC address of your router, then deauth all clients, and re-route all clients to their machine by spoofing the MAC/IP of the wireless router. Now they have access to all of your sessions as a man in the middle attack ;)

I wouldn't even bother setting up MAC address filtering as its a waste of your time. The only viable solution is WPA2, and always run Firefox with the Blacksheep addon if you really have to connect to a public use Wifi.

OK, sorry for the OT. Time for bed :)
