The latest sense build (that works) is the 2.1 build on Reef's site.

You can update the kernel for updated hardware support, but (AFAIK) there has been very limited success porting a newer version of sense to the TP2.

Thanks mbellot. ...Now I just wonder if 2.1 with Sense is worth forgoing the updated Froyo.

force cdma needs to =1 if you're on CDMA. Please read the FAQ.

The apps you downloaded persist in the data.img. Updating the kernel will not affect that; however you may need to delete your data.img if performance is bad after an upgrade or something isn't working right.

I use Titanium Backup for backing up and restoring everything for those cases ;)

It is always best to delete all the old files and start fresh. I use Android Mate to backup my apps to a folder on the sd card. Then I drop them into the new androidapps folder. FYI, some apps may no longer work due to changes in the kernal for the new build. Try re-downloading from android marketplace if that happens.

That depends on what changed in the update. I wouldn't recommend you blow away your 256 MB file every single time you update the kernel. SD cards only have so many write cycles... why rebuild if you don't have to. Only do it if you experience issues.

Just make sure you're using the kernel from 11/3 or newer.

Awesome update! The voice command is working great.

But I can't seem to download anything from the browser - it keeps saying No SD Card. An SD card is required to download ***.

I searched and searched and wasn't able to find an answer to this - help please? :)

Oh, and I just got a new 8gb Class 10 MicroSD card and used WinMo to reformat the card. Could this be causing the issue?

That is odd. Try reformatting the card again.

Reformat your SD card as Fat32, full format (not QUICK), and chose the highest allocation/cluster size. Do a fresh install of XDAndroid after that. Install XDAndroid first, run it once without adding all your backups or anything. Once you got it installed you can boot out of XDAndroid and add all your backups, apps or whatever. That should give you some speed too since the system will be installed in a continous manner on the SD Card and all the extras after the system.

Everyone's recommendation to reformat is probably correct, but don't use WinMo or the Windows utility to reformat the card. There's several other choices, gparted, the HP tool, there's a panasonic tool as well... Basically anything but something provided my Microsoft ;)

How did you get the update with voice command? When I try to update using the startup utility, it says no update needed and that I currently have 10-31-2010 version.

Manually update. Rootfs & kernel were both updated on 11/3.

Pardon my n00bness here for a moment, guys. But I'm a little lost on exactly where to go to see what things change when an update is released

The FAQ and wikis point to over a dozen different sites and many of those haven't been updated in months.

If someone could just link me to the one place where I go to see what's new in the 11/3 (and all other updates) then I'll be sure to add 5 points to your rep

Kernel autobuild (zImage/modules)

Rootfs autobuild

initramfs autobuild (changes very rarely...)

From Reefer? I don't think so... From me? Maybe. But I haven't made much progress TBH. I've got the base system image built, so my environment is finally setup. Need to dive into it more, plus I'm hoping Reef will give me his existing work on blazn so I'm not starting from square one.

Either way Reef still wants to be involved here, he just wants some help crankin out images. Hopefully I'll be the goto guy for that, we'll see

So I got things up and running and Got a MILLION QUESTIONS :D

1-What App are you guys using for msn and fb chat?
For WM, I used Parlingo. Whats similar or better for Android?

2- The fb app on marketplace tells me to pay, do you guys have something better?

3-I remember reading that when in Android, even if you try to charge the phone and it shows that it is charging, the phone doesnt actually charge. Is that fixed?

4-I installed swype, Yet I dont see it, i still have the regular keyboard. How can I switch? No arrown on the bottom like WM

And Welcome Aboard ARRRGGHHHH, and I can promise you, I'll make you go AARRGHHHH Even more with my noob questions on ANDROID :P

lol yes. But I think Sov just updated the app... I'm pretty sure they have to tell it there is an update now on the backend, to make sure it's good I'm assuming. Manually updating will probably _always_ be the best way to stay bleeding edge. That app just makes it easy ;)

2. Official Facebook app on the marketplace should be free, check again, that's what I use.

3. Charging works fine 95% of the time. 5% of the time it's a little wonky and doesn't charge.

Another way is to get ADB running. At work I use Droid Explorer (on CodePlex) which works really well as an all-in-one solution for ADB shell, file transfer, and more.

You can also try an app that will dual mount your SD card. Some have reported this to work well.

Ive been booting everytime to windows to transfer files which is annoying.

So where do I get this? marketplace? Droid explorer will allow my phone recognize usb?

EDIT: when I updated my files throught startup utility, now my phone detects the cable and does my pc which shows a Storage device. When I want to open the storage device, it gives me an error

Sorry, just on my way in to work, but I'll post a link shortly if nobody else does. Just go to codeplex.org and search for Droid Explorer (might be http://droidexplorer.codeplex.org)

Will do thanks :)

EDIT: Tried it and it gives me NO DEVICE FOUND. I also checked the debugging. Not working

In reference, Is there a way with one button to go back to HOME SCREEN? or is there a way to see what apps are running so i can multitask?
