Give this cab a try, places it in the root of the start menu. Just threw it together, if theres a want for it i will start updating cab as Mr. Pippy releases!

This cab installs android into root of storage card and creates a shortcut in root of start menu.
Android with Shortcut

This cab only creates a shortcut in start menu to haret located in root of storage card, for those with android already on storage card.
Android Shortcut Only

You must extract with 7zip, if you did try dl again, should work fine. Which cab are you trying btw?

Did you take out your SIM card before booting Android?

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2

Had my first experience with Android last night running 95-civic's 2/27/2010 build. Had no problems making calls but obviously no data or wifi.

Formatted my SD card and just extracted XDANDROID 01.03.10, copied rootfs and startup.txt from first post to SD root directory and zImage-modules-20100311_194359 renaming file according to instructions.

First boot into ANDROID...
WiFi- WPA connection = Flawless
Google - Sign in & Sync = Flawless
Voice Calls - No joy in mudville :/
Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators - Just sits there with the search animation with no results.
Did I miss something?

awesome, exactly what i was looking for. I already have it set up, so i'll definitely try the shortcut only cab! And YES you should start making cabs for latest releases, it would help a lot of noobs out that don't realize where to put the files and which to grab. People already like the zipped up files that someone else does, so a cab would be even better cause it has a shortcut. I think that's a bonus for the gsm tp2 thread at xda. People shout cab and everyone flocks ha. Hell, even i'd download it if it came out before i saw the new release.

I have placed all the android files from flyers zip into a folder named "Androidfs" on the root of my SD card.

I added rel_path=Androidfs to the startup.txt file in the "Androidfs" fil before the last set of quotes and I am getting an error when trying to load haret saying rel_path is invalid key.

Anyone able to help? besides saying put the files on the root of the sd.

Thanks!

MrPippy, I think we should add the following text to post 1 (in BIG RED LETTERS on top):

NOTE: IF YOUR PHONE CURRENTLY HAS A SIM CARD IN THE GSM SLOT, REMOVE IT BEFORE BOOTING ANDROID IF YOU WANT DATA. Some users have reported successful data even with the SIM card in, but it is highly recommended that you remove it, especially the first time.

^I think that would solve a great portion of the questions in this thread!

Remove the rel_path=androidfs text from your startup file, and then place all Android files in a folder on the storage card called 'andboot' (no quotes, all lowercase). Then cut the rootfs.img file from the andboot folder and paste it to the root of the storage card and leave the rest of the files in the andboot folder. Then run haret

Wow, this is great. I haven't tried this since the early Civic builds.

I followed the first post, used the single zip file, extracted to root of SD. Ran Haret, everything works! Calls, sms, google maps, android market, email, etc. Now only if the camera would work, I'd be using this all day...

Great work!

I had problems with an SD card also. I had to add msm_sdcc.msmsdcc_fmax=14000000
to the startup.txt to slow down accesses to my card then everything was fine. Without it I was corrupting the file system on the card bad enough that sometimes I had to reformat, and it almost never made it into android successfully without it. Don't know how bad that affects my performance, but it doesn't seem bad.

Well they added directions for getting it to boot while in a folder, so I followed those. I guess I'll go back to using a dedicated SD card. I'd like to have it on my 8gb sdhc but android generates too many junk files to keep track of.

Its right at the bottom of page one. Anyone that gets through any kind of browsing on the first page and scrolls to the bottom to click the "Reply" button has to scroll right over this. Not yet. I have read that there are a very few people that it worked right out of the gate though. (Note. this is on the FAQ on page 1)

Sounds like when USCC has an Android phone the fix will come sometime there after. I have worked on this personally for many hours with no luck.
