Has anyone been able to get the voice package for google navigation off android marketplace? I really want to use it but it won't let me without the voice download. Thanks.

That's actually a good question -- I assume if you use the standard xdandroid package, the gsm radio will work, but I'm not sure anyone has tested it. Give it a shot and report back.

You might want to grab the startup.txt from 95-civic's package; I don't know if the Rhodium one included with xdandroid is different or not.

I have tried a GSM build of Android for TP2, using an AT&T Sim card, and voice and data do work on it, and can access the marketplace. Forgot which build I downloaded though...too bad I couldn't play with it longer, my buddy wanted his sim card back. :disgust:

Don't bother to find it at this moment. We don't have GPS yet. And I bet by the time we have GPS, the Android market problem has been fixed already.

Google maps was able to locate me on the map, so some kind of GPS or Wireless location is working.

As it was posted earlier, that is only cellular triangulation using cell towers near you. It works well because of the time google has spent mapping out the earth and everything in it. I hate that I can see everything in my backyard from the internet.

New Build Available. MrPippy has put a few updates into the community RIL to support 3G data and SMS! See below for a complete build. See link below. Make sure your SIM card is removed, and please note this seems kind of buggy.

Changes by (MrPippy):
-Call no longer need to be made in WM prior to loading android
-SMS and 3G Data
-Keypad now works in calls (you can now delete your voicemail by pressing 7 :) )

Going forward MrPippy will be starting a new Android thread since I just do not see to have the time to answer all questions and keep this thing updated. If anyone is going to make this thing 100% or darn close to it he is. Within the first few days of him picking up the Rhodium he put in almost a month worth of my changes! He obviously more experienced than I!

holy .... I can't believe it! 3G Data and SMS?! That is way sooner than expected. This forum is gonna get crazy for the few days. I'm downloading it now. MrPippy really knows his stuff. Thank you civic to all your hard work on this project. You got this CDMA project started off to a very good start. Plus without you, MrPippy may not have even gotten started working with on the project. We'd all still appreciate your help to continue working on this as your expertise is still greatly needed.

If I make a donation to the project, how does that work? Do all the devs share it? Or are there individual devs donation pages. I guess donating to everyone is better since this is a group effort.

Edit: I've made a small donation to both you and MrPippy.

I will post the link to his thread once he creates it. I will also ask the mods to replace the sticky with his.
