Re: [TESTING] Updated 2/28/11 New Kernel - GFX Glitches/lag fix
About to start with a fresh build. Briefly used the 2/28 kernel last night, but data.img was corrupted (wouldn't even copy it to my desktop under Windows or Linux). Will report back after class..

As far as the kernel, I reset up FRX04, was running great, tossed in the 022811 kernel (with graphic fixes), that was running great too, so I tempted fate and hooked up my airave, and just got a SOD. Gonna let it reboot and see how it works. No significant issues with wake ups, some a little slow but much better than previously. Haven't tried the newest kernel w/ camera/video, wasn't sure how it was gonna work without the libs being mounted or an updated system.ext2 and haven't had a chance to read into it yet. And one final comment about Arrrghhh's patience... I jumped on IRC today lurking and saw that Arrrghhh truly does have the patience of a saint, lmao. Even though they were stupid questions and I believe Arrrghhh was getting frustrated, he bailed out a noob who didn't bother reading. My hat is off to him (and you too ndno!!!). |

*No (or vvveerryy slow) sleep when GPS is enabled, but I believe we have known that?
*Quick and clean wakes, haven't had to press the button twice. *Answer/Windows/Back/End keys stay lit during sleep. *Reinstalled all my apps while chargering and using wifi. Unplugged charger at 8:30am. Setup my phone and applications' settings. 10am getting low battery warnings. Gonna head home to recharge to keep the testing going. Sent from my RHOD400 using Tapatalk |

heh, I guess I'll try to answer these in-line...

Also, I'm posting a new kernel. It's completely up to date with autobuild (1276) so cam/video record works... However, when I enabled all the userland libs I ran into a TON of crazy issues, as did some of the other testers. So be warned - when I disabled the libs, this kernel works great! However, if you do disable the userland libs the camera won't work at all... so that's the trade off. You all asked for it!! Alright, kernel posted guys. I honestly don't want reports of issues with cam libs enabled, so don't even bother... Last edited by arrrghhh; 03-01-2011 at 12:22 PM. |

Re: [TESTING] Updated 2/28/11 New Kernel - GFX Glitches/lag fix
Oops, posted the wrong one. If you downloaded the kernel, please redownload!
Ugh, even with the libs disabled, I still have issues with the phone sleeping. Lots of wakelocks! I'll let WisTilt2 know... You guys might want to hold off on this kernel. Ok, so this is interesting. The libs are obviously suspect, and when I have the libs disabled and try to use cam, the phone refuses to sleep. So if you use this kernel with the libs disabled and don't touch the cam, you'll be fine... but that was kinda the point of this kernel. I guess the first one can't go perfectly, eh? Re: [TESTING] Updated 3/1/11 New Kernel - Up-to-date w/Autobuild!
arrrghhh, awesome news on the camera/video as part of the mainline kernel now.
Very impress with your patience these days. Anyways, I have one minor question. The kernel may have support for camera but doesn't the system.ext2 (from FRX04) need to contain the latest camera-related libraries also? I'm guessing one of the dev guys (viruscrazy) needs to commit those libraries and StineBD needs to rebuild the system.ext2 image. Last edited by ndno; 03-01-2011 at 03:26 PM. |
