So hopefully i get this ironed out soon. That alone will bring up battery life tremendously.
great work..hope u get through..do u think battery life is better on nand?? i do check out the other thread sometimes and even with our screen lit the phone last the same 5-6 hours as those on heret and their screen turns off
At this time, Haret gets better battery life. The will both be pretty close assuming an equal playing field since the screen, 3g, and processor are your biggest drains.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - Keyboard Mapping Fixed, HW3D, and Battery Algo Update

As far as I have experienced, the 'standby' time is pretty good already, but once you actively start doing stuff, the battery is flat in no time at all.
I can lock my Rhod, put it away and pick it up a few hours later and the battery has barely moved, but I can play about 30 minutes of Alchemy before the battery icons turns red and it starts to complain about low power.

I can't imagine thats just the screen. Is it the CPU that is drawing so much more power then it's supposed to do?

For music, CPU will be your biggest pull (assuming the screen is "off"). You also have power constantly going to the SD card interface and the external speaker. There really isn't a lot of power saving configured since that usually gets worked on after the majority of devices are known to be working close to perfect and stable.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - Keyboard Mapping Fixed, HW3D, and Battery Algo Update

Modules are one thing, it's the kernel itself. You can have as many modules or "drivers" you want. Unless the kernel initializes them or acts a certain way they are useless.

Anyway I am noticing my phone doesn't lock fully anymore. The windows (menu) button can unlock the phone and end up hitting send since it is right beside it. I end up calling random people. It's a little annoying. I don't know if that is the keyboard mapping or the rootfs we are using.

I can create a new tinboot, but I haven't had success getting the new builds to work since 9/25. I have tried everything I know how to do to get it working, but no luck. I'm waiting for ACL's autobuild setup to see if I'm just retarded or if something really is missing.

As far as nand is concerned, the changes are here: Commits in ~acl/linux-on-qualcomm-s-msm/linux-msm-rhod-nand:htc-msm-2.6.27 - Gitorious

For the standard linux-msm that Matt uses, check here: Commits in linux-on-qualcomm-s-msm/linux-msm:htc-msm-2.6.27 - Gitorious
