[WM][Feb 28] PPCGeeks SD ROM Flasher v1.1

Just a little concept I had and throw together. Hopefully this will help inspire other developers to come up with creative ideas and share with our fellow users here @ PPCGeeks.com. Its basically a program that will rename and move .nbhs to root of SD card and send the device into bootloader mode automagically for htc users. It has a very minimalist gui built on the .NET 2.0 framework. Please do note the icon and name of this application may change at any time so check back often for updates. Also feel free to suggest ideas, more devices or post bugs if you have any.
~mike

Known Issues:
2/28 - There currently is a bug that will not let the app find nbhs unless they are in the root of the sd card. I looking for a fix, but afraid this maybe related to OS. Will keep ya posted on my findings.

Re: [WM] PPCGeeks SD ROM Flasher v1.0

Pre-loaded Devices:
HTC Diamond - DIAMIMG.nbh
HTC Touch Pro - RAPHIMG.nbh
HTC Touch Pro 2 - RHODIMG.nbh
HTC Vogue - VOGUIMG.nbh

Change Log:
v1.1
2/28 - See known issue in first post.
2/27 - Rewrote half the code for efficiency and fixed a few minor bugs.

v1.0
2/22 7:26PM EST - Fixed a bug that removed original name if its the same.
2/22 - Changes to the settings screen added drop box for common devices.

Download: Was at 61 before I deleted v1.0.

Notes:
SD is gonna have to be formatted to FAT32. (Up to 16GB card has been tried on TP2 w/success - TweetyBear)
Device has to be unlocked to flash a custom ROM.
NBH file name must be as specified unless you choice a preset. (ie. RHODIMG.nbh - Touch Pro 2)
If the FLASH.nbh exists it will rename to OLD_FLASH.nbh.

Re: [WM] PPCGeeks SD ROM Flasher v1.0

How interesting! So this is a PPC native application which loads up the nbh file (from SD card or non-ROM internal storage) and then flahses the device. Presumably for those folks who have difficulties getting to the bootloader or don't want an nbh file sitting in the root of their storage.

I can't wait to try this out. Thanks for sharing.

Best regards,
-boggsie

Well it searches the device and SD. If it finds a nbh it will ask you to rename to proper img name (ie. RHODIMG.nbh for TP2). It will rename and move to root of SD card and send the device into bootloader mode automagically to start flashing process. And no problem thanks for commenting...let us know how it goes.

Nice work Mike,
Are we still limited to use a small Size SD card or will it work on say an 8gb?

Thanks Hypnotic and I personally didn't try a large memory card but I'm sure that you probably do need to use a smaller sd. But however if anyone does try, let us know.

Re: [WM] PPCGeeks SD ROM Flasher v1.0 - Minor Update 2/22

Updated first post with a new build with a drop down box with pre-loaded device img names and some notes about what has to be done for this to work. (Deleted original upload which was @ 9 downloads.)

I would say where there's a will there's a way. That being said I think so.
