Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

I believe I have figured out the problem for me through JD's method at least. When I boot into the boot loader to perform the rom update, the active sync can not see my device, although the boot loader reports it is connected via USB. I assume I need drivers for active sync to be able to see the boot loader is connected? It try's to connect and comes back with unable to detect device.

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

make sure it says .37 CMONEX not .37.0000 bootloader
if it doesn't you have to unlock it
I had issues unlocking it, I had to first connect using activesync, then run manualssspl.exe on the Touchpro, then run the hardlpl.37 on the computer and that did it.
good luck

I never saw a prompt to hit the power button.

What am I doing wrong?

Here's a pic of the file name/location:

Thanks
Any updates? I'm having the same problem. I can flash through the PC but would like to be able to flash through the SD card.

Yeah, I got a new micro SD card and it worked like a champ. I upgraded the stock 1GB to an 8GB Kingston from meritline for ~20$. GL

JD if you see this post, for option 5 on madlyalives method you might mention the card may just not work and to try a new one, as that is what worked for me. Thanks for all you do for the community. =D>

Smile Will Not Flash!!!

I used the HSPL 0.37 to unlock my phone and in the bootloader screen it says "spl-0.37.cmonex" but when i open the "ruu directory" on my pcc and click on "romupdateutility.exe" it goes throught the "i understand" caution then to the "i completed the steps" screen but when i click next and it is verifying the information on pda/phone it brings me to a screen that says "ERROR [240] FILE OPEN , the update utility cannot open the file. please check your update utility", I cannot get the phone to connect to activesync while in bootloader screen it gives me error saying "microsoft cannot reconize for one of two reasons: the device was not connected properly etc. or the device is not a smart phone/pocket pc" and if i try doing the rom update utility by the 2nd method (sn0b0ard's method) i get the same outcome as above (ERROR [240] FILE OPEN)...

I have DL'ed the RUU.zip and extracted to desktop where i placed the rom file i downloaded from the link below and clicked on "romupdateutility" is this the correct way?

I am trying to install: |ROM||WWE|| ** EnergyROM Series 2.0 with Final Rhodium Manila** ||Build 32209

which is located at http://mytouchraphael.blogspot.com/2...ith-final.html

I have a sprint HTC touch pro with stock 1.03.651.4 rom and the HSPL 0.37 unlocker

PLEASE HELP ME i have never flashed roms before and this is my first attempt!

Thank you in advance

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

The steps for PC flashing are the same as the Touch Diamond. I couldn't get the flash process to work using the steps indicated for PC Flashing in this thread. Here is how you can flash a ROM by PC.
  1. Establish active sync connection (this is the most important step).
  2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh into the RUU folder.
  3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps on screen to flash ROM.
  4. Once the phone reboots, go through Windows Mobile setup and let it finish.
  5. Perform a hard reset (hold power, volume down, and center d-pad).
  6. Complete the Windows Mobile setup and start using your new ROM!
