HTC Touch Pro VS HTC Hero

I work as a Retail Consultant for Sprint and I had my hands on the HTC Hero (Android OS) and I have to say bye, bye iPhone. This device can do all the iPhone can and more. MultiTask, multi-touch screen, trackball, Micro SD memory card slot which supports 32GB cards, 5.0 MP camera and video, MP3, Sprint GPS, TV, Radio, Google apps, 70K applications to choose from, Open OS.....the list keeps going....accelerometer......

I am a huge Touch Pro advocate but I an switching to the Hero intead of Touch Pro 2. Price $179.99 after $100 MIR, Touch Pro 2 $350.00 after $100 MIR. Huge price difference.

Please feel free to express your opinion.

Re: HTC Touch Pro VS HTC Hero

i'm torn on this decision. i am also an employee for Sprint and have had the pleasure of playing with both of these devices. the Hero is AMAZING! i don't want to turn my back on WinMo but this thing is awesome, i'm actually playing with the phone as we speak and its great! the price is right, it is so smooth! i just have to get used to an all touchscreen and no hardware keyboard, but for this thing and the price, i'm down..

After installing MR6 Final, I love my Touch Pro! Although, Hero still grabs my attention. I will definitely play with HTC Hero first, then make my decision.

Android is a beast!

Android + HTC apps = Greatness.

WinMo is up against a stiff competitor

Re: HTC Touch Pro VS HTC Hero

not as smooth as the iPhone but for the price and its capabilities...it's great.

MR6 is not perfect...youtube and internet disconnects, sprint tv is lagging even after installing the fix. I have flashed my TP with all ROMs most have recommended and I had to flash the stock because of the issues.

I Love Windows Mobile but I am ready for a change. Pre Sucks, BlackBerry limited and iPhone ok but no tweeks. I think Android is the next best thing.

BTW I am selling 2 TP $150 each, unlocked.

Re: HTC Touch Pro VS HTC Hero

I also have a TP and I'm strongly thinking about picking up the Hero. One thing I wanted to know, how clear is the Hero's screen? I was reading and comparing specs of the two phones, but it seems like it's a downgrade from the TP to the Hero as far as the screen goes. (less pixles and less colors on the Hero) Or am I just a noob and I missed something? Yes I know the Hero screen is bigger.

HERO LCD (Color TFT/TFD)
320 x 480 pixels
3.2"
Colors: 65,536 (16-bit)

Touch Pro LCD (Color TFT/TFD)
480 x 640 pixels
2.8"
Colors: 262,144 (18-bit)

My source is the phonescoop comparison page.

Re: HTC Touch Pro VS HTC Hero

The one thing I am anxiously waiting to hear is if Sprint will force someone to buy an everything plan to get the rebates on the Hero. I have an older plan and pay less than the cheapest everything plan. So that would be the only thing holding me back from getting the Hero....
