New Guy Here Mogul vs. Touch

blue4shizzle.... both the Mogul and Touch have 400 mhz processors, dunno what specs you are reading.... and some dude on a video SELLING an "on-screen-keyboard-emulator" is just that... a pro EMULATING a REAL keyboard.

I tried most of the popular on-screen keyboard emulators just for kicks and in my opinion they totally BLOW. I and my fat thumbs will go up against you ANY day in a texting contest!!

and BT issues? thats a thing of the past.

and having wi-fi is a great plus, particularly when in a cellular-poor reception area (for example, the MAJOR full-service hotel in my area has totally lousy cellular service, but their wi-fi is GREAT)

So for me, keyboard and wi-fi FAR outweigh the 64MB of additional ram in the Touch, besides, if I get lost I wont have to wait 'months' for GPS directions

threads like this should seriously be posted in general discussion forums instead of this one, there are a lot of biased comments, not that i'm completely innocent myself, but at least the majority of the people that see this thread don't have anti-touch posters on their signature, like showing the mogul flushing the touch down a toilet (rolling eyes)

Look at it like this... The Touch lacks a good solid no BS interface. I can use MS Office Mobile like a champ. I send emails, pictures, vids, files, house my mp3s, satelite radio, view full cable TV, use my phone as a wireless router for any computer I want, USB my phone as a modem and I do all of this with the Mogul. I have tried the Touch. The touch screen is nice but it is not reliable and once you learn the keyboard on the Mogul it is 20X faster then the touch screen. The touch screen when used fast lags up the phone and it covers your work. Both phones are just as fast bar software problems that lead to memory leaks that are hurting the Mogul atm.

Basicly if you just want a touch phone dont bother. Whats the point of spending all that money on a touch device and being limited by the interface? If you want a phone that can do it ALL then the Mogul is your pick.

Your entire post is really kind of nonsensical. If the Touch interface is crap, then the Mogul is worse as it has touch interface minus touchflo. Everyone knows PPCs need to be tweaked for best performance. I can do all the crap you can do with the exception of wifi router, but if I really want to do that, I can tether to my Asus EEE and put its wifi in adhoc mode. Not as pretty but plenty effective. As far as typing, yea you are probably 15-20% faster, if you slide out, but Ill beat you every time for onehanded use (no beveled screen). Plus Ill run book reader,slingbox,flexmail, pocketinformant, resco explorer, opera mini, and pocket stars and still have 35 megs free... Ill take my more elegant (and less buggy) touch, esp. when GPS and Rev A comes out. Why one would spend more money for a product that is simply crippled by its lack of ram I will never know

i dont even understand what u dudes are fighting for. the point of this thread was to help the guy out and its turned into a Mogul vs. Touch cage match.

Look bottom line the Mogul and the CDMA Touch have the same chipsets. One has more ram and is thinner(much thinner), presently lacks a flash, wifi, gps, and a hard keyboard. It does have much more operating memory which results in better performance with multi-tasking and general software operability. It can pretty much match or beat the mogul in performance.

Then on the other hand you have a phone with rev.a, wifi, gps, a flash, a full keyboard and a slightly better screen, that can also do anything the touch can do, BUT doesnt have enough memory to "support" alot of these features, oh yeah and more hard buttons. (a matter of personal preference).

Personally, id never leave my mogul for a touch, not because i dont like the touch, personally i think its an excellent device...

BUT i NEED my keyboard(4000 texts a month), and though i dont use wi-fi much, it certainly comes in handy sometimes, and i prefer the hard buttons. Not to mention GPS and Rev.A. Does the Mogul have a Ram issue? You bet yo azz it does, but i can deal with that one disadvantage that can be somewhat rectified with an efficient task manager, to get all the advantages of the Mogul. In a nutshell, it comes down to personal preference like you guys said, and if you have sprint, just try them both out and make your decision...

ps...lol when the cdma bb curve comes out, I will transform into a SUPER GEEK!!!!...ill be carrying a MOGUL and A CURVE!!!!!

Too many flames and attacks on this thread; plus, there are a lot of threads comparing both devices.

No need to get worked up people, no device is better than the other... it all depends on what the user needs/wants.
