Phone not connecting VIA USB cable

I want to do a HARD RESET but need to back it up. I plug in my USB cable and it charges (since I modded it) but will not be recognized in my PC? It has worked in the past and I assumed that since its charging its connected? I have the Sprint 700wx....

I know that for me it depends which USB port I plug into since my work and home pc have multiple ports.

Try changing to a differnet port. Try deleting and reinstalling ActiveSync.

Also, Sprite allows you to backup your device to your storage card...so try that option.

Can you open ActiveSync on your pc?

Do you have a firewall that's keeping you out?

Give us a bit more info.

late,
Coz

Ive tried multiple ports
Ive re-installed AS a couple times
Windows FW is disabled

Ill try the backup to Memory card option and then do a hard reset. Maybe its just the phone itself....

Something that just happened to me with the same problem, was that I updated one care and it reset my firewall settings. It took me about an hour to figure it out. I don't know if that helps, but if you updated it could be culprit.

Coz,

The version of Sprite Backup that I have keeps wanting me to plug in my phone so it can install the app to my phone. Did I purchase the wrong Sprite Backup? lol

Nope. You have the correct version. You've obvioulsy not installed it on to your phone yet.

If you can get the software onto your phone you should be able to backup and save the backup file to your storage card.
