Dropped signal after dialing *2 to Sprint Customer Service.

I had this Treo 700wx from Sprint for less than a month and recently it came to my attention that each time after placing a call to Sprint customer service by dialing *2, my 700wx will lose the entire signal (both phone and EVDO). And it may take quite a while for it to pick up.
I tested more than 10 times in my phone and the drop rate is 100%. The same thing happened to my friend who has the same phone from Sprint.
I have been talking to Palm and Sprint Customer services, and neither has any clue. Sprint told me it may be a hardware problem, while Palm pointed fingers to Sprint saying it must have something to do with the network.
Could you guys please place some test calls to *2 to see if you can repeat my experience?
It is really annoying to have the network dropping on you each time you call Sprint.
Your feedback is highly appreciated.

It's not a hardware problem, this has been discussed before, remember to search

It happens to all of us. Why? We don't know. We assume it is because PRL updates are also performed by calling *2 and the radio resets itself so the new PRL starts taking effect.

Bingo.

That's the #1 reason as far as I can tell.

Thanks for your reply. I did an extensive search in this forum and through Google, but no luck. BTW, how do you update your PRL? Can we do it ourselves or need to go through Sprint? Thanks again.
