Release Dates and Specs for Upcoming Smartphones Leaked

Sprint

Phonearena brings us preliminary specifications for Sprint's upcoming version of the HTC Touch Pro 2 as well as the Samsung Instinct S50. Both are scheduled to be released on September 3. Additionally, Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse recently "announced" that Sprint's first Android phone is finally entering the latest stages prior to release. With the Palm Pre, BlackBerry Tour, HTC TP2 and for instance a high-end Android smartphone in its lineup, smartphone customers preferring Sprint should have a lot to choose from soon. I've tired of hearing everyone complain about how Sprint lacks a strong phone lineup. Maybe this will shut them up.

i wonder what androin phone they will get first, i really want the tp2, but winmo is really losing my interest. i may hold out for android

Everything I've read says the Hero will be their Android phone. Looks pretty sweet, too. Too bad most of the reviews I've read say the OS is fantastic while the hardware is extremely lacking. That seems to be HTC's theme the last couple of years.

I'll reserve final judgement for the day I can stroll into a Sprint store and try it out.

Also, I agree about WinMo. I never thought I'd say it but I'm seriously contemplating a BB. I feel so dirty.

No Diamond2?
Too bad as I guess I am in the minority along with slbailey1, of eventually wanting another Touch Screen device after my Diamond.
Will be keeping my Diamond for awhile which is ok with me.
I personally don't want, need or care for a keyboard, but the majority of users do, which dictates what devices a Carrier carries.

I'd much rather have the Diamond2 as well. Had the Touch Pro and then bought a Diamond on eBay for weekends, when I didn't want to lug around a purse. The Diamond fits great on my jeans pocket. I ended up giving the TP to my husband (who loves it now) and made the Diamond my perma phone.

I would love to get the next one up, with sd card & hopefully more rom storage too. I'm out of space on mine.

Agreed! They need a phone with a 3.6 inch screen with no keyboard. Hopefully in the Android flavor... Hero is too small of a screen for no keyboard... and Touch Pro 2 is well... the Touch pro 2.

Im kinda stuck though on what ever next gen phone that they allow SERO on...
