Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

Still haven't done the Sprint Touch Pro MR upgrade discussed here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ht=rom+upgrade

Sounded like people were having some problems and it says you can't go back so thought a poll might help. Has ther been any issues?

What do you think of the rom upgrade?

Worked fine. Flash it, add whatever apps you like and press on.

Also - Go back to what? To an older radio and 6.1 build? I can live with not having that option.

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

it adresses issues (not sure what as my new sprint account from 9-23 and device were feb updates (first for me moving from cricket) and i am more than pleased, could care less for nascar and nfl)

try it out, if nothing you can get prl update. got me to 60656 and updated my profile. i hate minilla and tf3d but everyone jumped ship to tp2 after putting out (my opinion) crappy 6.5.1 and 6.5.2 roms. NRG had best till he changed from 23016 builds to 6.5.1 roms. now i am back to stock and locked waitint to get andriod. going from stock rom to mr rom from sprint and then back to stock is where the issue is. if you do the mr2.656.6 (iirc) and back to out of box rom then there will be issues, but i never went back so i don't know what they are.

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

biggest difference is is the sys. the newer one is build 21051 which is one of the last 6.1 builds and the 2105x+ builds have native scrolling so no more touch-flo ( touch-flo is not TF3D)

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

My fone freezes up every know and then. My nav does not work as well anymore. This is a maintenance release, a new rom for WM 6.5 will be available in 2010.

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

So everything it fixed is because it's a newer radio and newer build of 6.1 than what came with the phone?

Also I'm assuming I have to back everything up before doing the upgrade. Apps, contacts, appoinments, etc. have to put on after flashing it, right?

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

I like it. No more morning lockups requiring a soft reset and I think the phone runs cooler when streaming audio, etc.
