Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

I love it. I've been on it for several weeks now with no issues at all. Much faster and smoother Touch Flo, longer-lasting battery.

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

Not looking good for the update so far. Seems like just as many are having problems as those who aren't. Wonder if any problems were caused by having a custom rom before. Might try a hard reset before trying this.

i tried it and it worked well for me... but i wouldn't recommend any stock rom over a custom rom

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

I've regretted the update ever since I did it. I thought I'd just get used to it or find ways to make adjustments, but nope. My battery drains much more quickly (and I wasn't bothered by the battery life prior to the upgrade). I haven't noticed any improvement in speed or lagging...just as bad as before. The memory is always used at around 50% and I can't figure out what is running to cause that. I can't get anything to work around the internet sharing block they did even though it looks like it should work. I'm randomly losing contacts out of my saved list. My saved text messages disappear on their own and I just think it's annoying that they disabled the ability to select several messages/emails to delete...now you have to go through steps in order to "select several." I don't like the Opera setup and can't find the cab I used before for Opera. I honestly see no benefit from the upgrade and I'm frustrated!

Re: Thoughts on Sprint Rom upgrade

@ezza I would recommend a re-flash via activesync (not sd) and running my cm killer before any other tweaks.

Thanks for getting it. I'm a Noob, so Saibot popped into my head when I created the account. Now that I've gone from lurker to n00b it's even better. Sorry I'm not John Tobias or Ed Boon. Makes you wonder if there are any celebrities on here with a secret identity, though.

Still wondering why the differing results with the rom upgrade. Some say better battery some say worse. Some say faster, some say slower. Shouldn't the rom work the same for everyone?

I hate to say, but it's the user(s). there are different ways to flash, some people don't do an extra hard reset, some don't remember to get everything tweaked the same...

I recommend the upgrade for the simple fact it's one of the very last official wm6.1 builds. also this build is more compatible with 6.5 stuff than privious builds.

Doubtful, the Sprint 2.01 ROM flashes new PRI, PRL, and ROM. Actually many people rollback to the 2.01 MR to *fix* bad flashes with custom ROMs.
