Re: need hard reset help

It can be a little tricky and I am sure you will have to do it several times to get it right.

No kidding.

I was trying to hard reset one of my TP's last night & I bet it took me 20 tries in a row to get this to work.

I couldn't use the clear mem setting as the system was frozen up..........

Re: need hard reset help

After about 6 times trying the way in the manual, I found this in a search. It works, you will need your MSL code.

1) Open the phone dialer and enter ##786#
2) This opens a statistics screen with a bunch of info
3) in the lower right hand corner, click menu, then choose "Reset"
4) A pop-up will open asking for a code. Enter your MSL code.

Re: need hard reset help

Just did the three button method - works like a charm. The trick is to hold the dpad with the thumb of your right hand, then use your left thumb on the vol down. THen use your right left index finger and HOLD down the sleep button for ~ 3 seconds before the hard reset message comes on.

That works better is some phones than others for some strange reason. I have two TP's & both have been hard reset more than once. One of them works perfectly doing exactly what you state here on the first or maybe second try every single time.

The other one is an absolute nightmare to hard reset if it's froze up so you can't get to the clear memory screen. I had it frozen solid from some TF3D mods I was trying out that went bad, so it had to be reset this way.

It was absolutely infuriating, I bet I tried that button pushing 25 times in a row before I got it to work. Before anybody says "did you make sure the power was off first??", I was pulling the battery every time & it was not plugged into a charger.............
