My 6800 started reseting itself after a hard reset. i called verizon customer service they were happy to send me new 6800, he looked hard to find one and finnally did. i was like damn it! so i got it and had an accident with it so then i thought id try insurance. I filed a claim online, hoping for touch pro. got a 6800 dilivered today. it was a refurb with a missing button. i was like wtf! so i called asurion to complain they were very helpfull and said they would be happy to get another on the way.. so i said " is it possible to get a different phone? I've had nothing but problems with the 6800" she said let me check......yes we can send you the 6850. touch pro will be here tomorow woo hoo!!!!!

I was one of the lucky ones that got a TP when calling the insurance... had the Tp for about A MONTH now and i will tell you the grass is not always greener,.. here are a few things that suck with the TP:

1- the D pad blows, I cant play games like I used to. I find this new Dpad useless.
2- the screen is smaller, yes its a better screen but a smaller screen
3- the keyboard is different and i keep effing up while i type. they moved the enter key and that really really blows.
4- it has less buttons so i cant have the mappings i used to.

Should had waited for the Tp2... lol

Hey my phone did have an accident, it fell in the sink. Ive had insurance on my phone since i got my 6700, back in 2006. Havent used till now so i dont feel too bad about it. Whats wrong is paying such a marked up price for these devices from verizon. and then not being able to upgrade for 2 years. When they are out of date in 6 months

Well my thought on it is this, in every system there are loopholes. When I filed a claim I did have some issues but they could have been lived with. I think I had one once where the spacebar on the keypad didnt work. I didnt feel bad about paying the $50 and I certainly would not feel bad about having to pay the $100 if I had to do it today. For $100 I would feel justified that I paid the fair amount for a used device. Weve all seen the horror stories of devices that come from Asurion. So many people get pissed about the crappy devices they send out. Do you think thier QA/QC will improve just because they doubled thier fees? Nope.

Verizon has plenty of XV6800 left I have gotten 3 in the last week.

I received a "refurbished" xv6800 last week from Asurion. It could not read my memory cards! I called them back and asked them to replace this defective replacement unit with a NEW 6800. They checked stock and found that they still had new 6800s. They sent me one of those, and it arrived Friday. It is indeed a new one and it works fine. I'm personally ok with staying with the 6800 for now, especially because I have accessories for it like a proclips car mount that probably wouldn't work with a TP or other alternative phones.
