what would you do?

Greetings. Yesterday, my wife somehow accidentally got her mogul into the bootloader screen, and figured she junked the phone. She ended up going to the sprint store and showed them the issue. The wonderfully knowledgeable (sarcasam) rep there explained to her the mogul was good as dead, and she ended up walking out with a new treo 800w. When i got home, i heard the story and proceeded to get the "dead" mogul back to it functional state. This is where my question to all you fine folks comes. My wife loves her new treo, so i have no plan to ask her to take it back. I already have a mogul, and love it. So, what does one do with a year old mogul thats seen better days, but still works fine? Keep it as a spare? Try to sell it for probably not much $? Do a mogul autopsy as a learning experience? I am planning to get a touch pro when they become available to sprint. So, what would you do? Thanks guys, dschoenike Any chance sprint will take old moguls as trade in value when the touch pro comes out?

Re: what would you do?

My vote would be to sell it. Might as well try to get something out of it. I can't see Sprint giving a trade in value on a phone that's already at least a year old and will probably be older by the time the Touch Pro makes it debut.

Wow. $30 hey? Thanks for the scoop on that. Thinkin' keeping it as a spare wifi/media device may be my best option.

Re: what would you do?

Sell it on eBay. You could easily get at least $100 for it.

Re: what would you do?

If Sprint issued you a replacement what are the chances that they retired the ESN making the phone functional only as a PDA?

My sons phone was mistakenly reported as stolen, due to a missed keystroke by Sprint, and they retired his ESN. When I contacted them the rep explained that once the ESN is retired it cannot be put back into the system. They instead had to send a a replacement for a phone that was only 1 month old and completely functional.

Just something to consider so that you don't mistakenly sell someone a useless phone.

I think maybe his wife paid full price for her new Treo (instead of an insurance claim). This would be the only way she would walk out with a new 800w, unless she got a really friendly rep.

By the way dschoenike, if you decide to post the Titan on the Bargain Trader, be sure to shoot me a PM and let me know how much you're asking for it. May be interested...

Re: what would you do?

This is just my opinion, but I think I would be back at the Sprint Store trying to have some dweeb hung over the cost of the new phone.

Re: what would you do?

I guess if his wife really love the Treo. I personally would have been upset about having to buy a new device, unless I wanted a new one anyways and the new one was better suited for me.
