Bluetooth and ringer troubles

I am not able to send media via bluetooth and I do not know why. When I choose send from options I am just taken to my "messages." I am able to beam information fine using my IR but the blutooth does not work. I want to be able to send info to people who do not have IR, is this possible? I am also hard of hearing (nearly deaf) and want to know if there is a way to extend my ringer length it is now only 20 secounds long and by the time I hear it ring the call has gone to voice mail. Sprint said they canot help me. Thanks for any help guys

Re: Bluetooth and ringer troubles

SEND means send via email, BEAM means to beam via either IR or bluetooth. When you select beam, at first it says IR, "tap to send," If you wait a moment, it will search for bluetooth devices, and add them to the list as it finds them. (You should see your blue led blinking) Usually it says "unknown device" for a moment before it comes up with the device's name. You don't even have to have bluetooth turned on to do this. It will turn itself on to search and send, and then turn itself back off when you exit the screen.

When trying to RECEIVE files via bluetooth, you must do three things... 1) turn on bluetooth, 2) make your device visible, 3) Settings>Beam>Receive all incoming beams checked. If you do not enable beams, the person sending you files will get an error. I don't know WHY you have to enable receiving of IR BEAMS to get your BLUETOOTH beams to work, but you just do.
