So my "brand new" phone came out of the box with 2.40 Olipro
Yep, you read it right. A brand new 6800 came with the 2.40 Olipro bootloader out of the box. I went to put 2.40 on and as soon as it hit the bootloader, it already was there.
I've checked the refurbishment status and it says no with no date. I'm kind of wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this before? Its definitely a brand new phone as Asurion sent me the entire kit but I'm just kind of confused as to why it was unlocked out of the box. It had the stock 3.35 Sprint ROM on there and everything but I put it in bootloader mode (I always do this before flashing anything) and it said 2.40.Olipro

Re: So my "brand new" phone came out of the box with 2.40 Olipro
Mine came the same way, although I didn't get it from Asurion. I bought mine brand new off Ebay, I can understand why mine was thought, because I bought it flashed to cricket. But everything was brand new, still in the plastic, and I went into the lifetime info on the phone and date of manufacture was 21 March 08. No refurb info. counter had 3 minutes on it. So I know its new.

Yeah see I can understand your situation... but mine just makes no sense to me unless it was someone at Sprint who was reflashing all these phones to 3.35 and someone decided to take it a step further... but even then, its doubtful.
