Yea had no lock on the x64 with drivers, but on my laptop which runs xp 32 this worked perfectly! 115 kbps on first try, awesome!

Question, how much bandwidth can I use up on this before sprint might notice something finnicky and come looking to charge me more than the $15 I pay now? I'm sure general web browsing would be fine, but has anyone done anything like playing online games or some downloads without getting an inquiry? I'm assuming this is undetectable as to weather or not it's truly attached to a computer but I'd just like to know if anyone has any experience in this.

Huge thanks...this is awesome!

Question though...I am able to connect, but after a minute of so...it somehow disconnects....if I go back to the wmodem menu and hit start...redial from my laptop, it connects again.

Any idea why it keeps disconnecting and how to work around that?

I posted a much easier and quicker method of doing this in the following thread:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ight=phixation

It goes like this: Install the update I have linked in the OP, start internet sharing on your phone, plug in the phone, when prompted for driver use the one I have linked. That's it.

Internet Sharing is a different method, I've outlined the pros/cons of using "Wireless Modem" vs. "Internet Sharing" in the original post.

I use both, depending on my needs.

i had drivers for vista 64 that worked with my original issue apache and wireless modem. i think i found them on this site. i was evaluating vista 64 and i did have my apache tethered, worked great.

i just found my archive of the zip file but i don't know how to upload. if you can't find it then i will have to figure out how to upload it for you. it is called USB_MODEM_VISTA64.ZIP

vista 64 drivers

ok see if this works

unzip to a folder of your choice on your pc, disable active sync or whatever vista calls it by unchecking usb connections box(sorry that's for xp activesync) // with vista when you "start" wireless modem on the phone then connect the cable to the pc the pc will try to install drivers, tell it you want to select the location and browse to the folder with the unzipped drivers.

with vista if you don't have wireless modem started on you phone when you connect the cable to the pc the vista mobile device program starts. if you have wireless modem started it looks like a different device to vista and looks for different drivers. it works just a little different than xp

once they install you will have a dial up connection to select when you go "start connection" with the #777 pre loaded.

once again this worked for me with standard apache wireless modem installed and vista 64. i have not done any wm6 flashes yet and i am not sure if the wireless modem program is the same and will work the same.

I am researching this to see if it will work on my wifes Touch. I would really like to be able to have her able to tether also with no charges.
