No it does not.
Something like 4G not working may be related to the ROM you flash post root but not obtaining root itself.

I had the same error. For me I traced it back to an error I made during the flash_image/mtd-eng steps.
(After the error, even though I had renamed the original PC36IMG I took it off my card)
I repeated those steps and it worked perfectly the second time.

Just to double check:

-you are putting the files on your card, not their folders, right? (except the PC36IMG.zip-THAT gets put on your card in its' zipped form)

-when typing the adb codes be careful, spelling, spacing, and punctuation count

Re: EVO Full Root|Recovery|Nand Backup/Restore|Flashing for n00b's Instructions & Vid

I am using copy n paste directly from the site. I just redid it again after deleting all files from the card it self, it looks right but then gives the same error. I think I will have to start over again, and redo the entire process.

OK, but what I was making sure of is when you get to the step involving flash_image and mtd-eng you DL their zipped folders to your PC, unzip them there, and then put the FILES on the root of your SD.
Some users get mixed up and put the zipped folders for those two on your card.
May have nothing to do with your issue, just mentioning it.
If you havent already watch the video on Post #2. Made it even easier for me.
Good luck.
